No improvements here guys, it's all dead and getting worse.

Last day of January is really pathetic :(

My page RPM CPC are recovering. However, I'm just not getting the clicks. Having said that, I also checked and I can see a lot of blank ads. Not sure what that is all about but it's obviously making a difference of people haven't got anything to collect on

Seeing big RPM crash yesterday and today. Bad way to close out a month.

What RPM? There is no RPM left!
-35% January 2018 vs December 2017
-15% January 2018 vs January 2017

My worst month in almost 10 years, worst than the first month with adsense (started mid month), worst than the month when ads were disabled for 20+ days (dmca).

Huge drop today. I'm -80%. Even worse than January!

Same here. Things were slowly recovering at the end of January to normal levels by the 31st, and then like a light switch shutting off this morning, suddenly dropped into the toilet again as soon as Feb 1 hit. I really feel for people who have to make their living based on wildly changing revenue streams like Adsense where you have no control.

Had email from google that the engineers are "working on it," and that they "appreciated my patience." Sigh. Worst month in years here too. Note that they also confirmed that I had some pages which were not crawled (a non-canonical problem on our end - see your new webmaster dashboard from Google) ... we fixed that a couple of days ago, but still earnings are abysmal.

But their email was clear - they know they have a problem. Engineers working on it.

Engineers working on it.

Engineers or 1st year college interns? If I'm not wrong, they are 'working' on this issue since late December.

A strange end to January for me. My highest PVs of the month, the most clicks of the month plus my highest earning's day of the month, however because my EPC was almost haved nowhere near what it could have been.

A January plus point is my clawback has been only 0.274%

January finished strong and clawback was less than 1%

For me, Adx is stuck to 0.0$ after half day,
Ads are serving, but all the stats are 0.

My clawback was 0.369%. I've never seen it that low, I usually hover around 2-3%. Perhaps it has to do with the bidding changes.

Has everybody had their finalised earnings for January yet? I'm still showing a -08p balance

Mine is also showing a negative balance on the home page, but in the payments section it shows my earnings properly.

@Dhillon I heard people getting their adsense banned or ads disabled for copyright violations some years ago but not anymore. I received a DMCA complaint last year and Google just removed the page from search result. They did not disable ads or anything not even the warning. Just a message appeared in Search console that a page has been removed because app developer filed a DMCA complaint at "lumendatabase .org". When I checked the database there were hundreds of similar sites violating their "copyrights". I think Google has changed the policy for sites. Now they do not disable adsense for minor copyright issues. They just remove the pages from SERP. It is not feasible for them to disable adsense on hundreds or thousands of sites for minor copyright violations. But they are too strict with YouTube. Three strikes and you are goner.

Why is that too strict? If you're in the publishing business, you simply don't steal other people's work, that's the number one rule.

I have seen rivals claiming copyright for videos while they don't own any. It's bitter truth but happening. By the way teach that "number one" rule to Google to stop stealing images from sites.

January for us was pretty decent. But thursday was really off (1st Feb). Worst day of the year so far.

Do you guys use blocker to block Adblock users? It’s called ‘blockadblock’. I’m using one now. Don’t know yet how effective it is.

Not using any anti-adblock, only had a 4% adblock rate some time ago. Maybe it is time to do a new evaluation :D

Hate to say it, but if I was a user using an ad blocker and suddenly saw ads, I wouldn't go back to the site. I don't think that's the best strategy.

I have to agree with nubchai, however we were starting to get an increasing number of adblockers and we decided to show a nag message to visitors using a simple piece of javascript/jQuery code below:
$.ajax('showads.js').fail(function(d){if(d.status===0 || d.statusText == 'error'){$("#headnoticejava").html("<div align=\"center\" style=\"margin: 35px 20px 0px 20px;font-size:20px;line-height:30px;\"><font color=\"red\"><strong>ADBLOCK NOTICE:</strong></font> Message asking visitors to whitelist us on adblock</div>");}});

I look at it differently. A lot of webmasters depend upon ads for their survival. If someone wants to come to my site with an adblocker on, I don't care if they never come back. As far as I'm concerned, they are stealing bandwidth from me, and I don't like thieves.

If the website offers the information you are looking for then they absolutely shouldn't make a difference. If you avoid websites just because of ads then you are cutting your own nose off to spite your face. I can see your point that some websites have advertising which is extremely irritating. The worst ads that I come across are the ones that suddenly pop up from nowhere about one or two minutes into your browsing time. I think it's completely rude of website owners to put these ads on their pages. Is tantamount to walking up to 2 people have a conversation in the street and butting in whilst they are talking to try and sell them something.

With blockadblocker, they do not see ads. But they get a full-screen popup notice.

@azlinda agreed. but, on the other hand, if they are never going to see an ad.. then they can go %$%# themselves and never come back.

AdBlocker ... I don't use one.

GDPR ... I'm surprised there is little if any talk here about how the EUs coming GDPR privacy and getting permission from visitors rules might affect publishers using AdSense.

I wonder if blocking or asking users to unblock your ads might violate the GDPR rules.
