Adsense is not broken,
Adsense for content is broken/going to die!
Too many concessions made to advertisers, but not even this cannot make them go back to the content network.

Adsense for search is better each day! if you hit the keyboard, Google will serve you "relevant search ads.

Now, Adsense for content is so cheap, that I can see a lot of spammy ads!
There is no competition!
It does not matter if you are a small, medium or big/huge publisher - the payment is the same (low) and is getting lower each month.
It's a trend.

I've earned $20 today so far, and half day left. At max, it could be 60$. Hardly there had been days when my earnings dropped below $100. I feel like something is broken, things couldn't be this bad :(

With this trend statistical findings, I can say we need to find out a better option though none exist. If Adsense goes down monthly and never recovers ( never recovered), then I do not thing any other ad network will show opposite signs.

@MayankParmar I'm honestly not sure. I'd have thought it's automated. I only know of one or two publishers (but they've got insane traffic) who have been reviewed so far.

That is true but Chrome 64 has already been released, with the ad blocker baked in.

I'm not sure if sites that have failed the review are affected yet or whether it only begins on the 15th. Then my understanding is that the offending publisher gets a warning and has 30 days to rectify the situation and only then if it hasn't been corrected will the ads for that site be blocked. That means that the earliest one will begin to see blocked ads will be March, likely latter in the month. Obviously, as evidenced by the comments here, very view sites have been reviewed so this unlikely to take full effect before the mid year.

We have been reviewed and passed with flying colors. We did not even submit for review. They just did it.

Our sites haven't been reviewed yet, either. Unfortunately, this may be the "new normal" for adsense.

Furthermore, I feel like they have sudden problems with targeting all around the board. We didn't have major problems, just couple of months ago. Something happened suddenly.
I suspect, that they had to make quick decisions after big brand advertisers protests last year and something went wrong. Such huge system as Google ads doesn't tolerate quick decisions.

This is shaping up to be a bad day. Ridiculous RPM, CPC is 50% of yesterday's. I used to laugh when people said Adsense was dying. But now I wonder if it's dying for the smaller publishers. Are they trying to consolidate around bigger publishers? It used to be one of my bigger revenue streams. No longer.

Today's my lowest earnings day in past one year. Need two three days like this, and I'll go with any alternative. Anything is better than AdSense now.

Same here and im also concerned about it being the new normal.. more strict regulations and less pay.

This is not happening just because of crawler acess or not. How can a crawler visit to millions of pages if i have only 10K daily visits on these 1 million pages.
Please let me explain you in detail what is happening.
First of all - After 18 Decmber Update.
- Crawler only go to a page which is visited by someone, This page then strat showing ads only in the region of the visitor. Not all Over the world.
- Note if user visit from north america bot from north america will visit the same page and ads will appear on this page only in North america. Ads will not appear on other countries and if the user visit the same page from different country.
- Bot of this new region will visit again ultimatly killing your server Bandwidth and CPU and RAM.
and this page address is cached in adsense server which get deleted in some 14 days.
- After 14 days bot will visit again if only some user visit this page. Otherwise ads will be removed.
- This is all happening after 18th december update of Adsense.
- if you have lot of pages and less visitors in 14 days. Your 90% pages will remain without ads and ads appear only when someone visit that page. Unfortunatly this ad will apear only in the user's country. Not other countries.
- Not all adsense accounts are affected with this update. Some big accounts are not under this update.
- what should you do to keep ads on your pages always ?
- YOUR PAGE XYZ.COM/123.HTML Should be visited by 17 users from different Countries every 14 days if you want your page are fill with an ad in everycorner of world everytime.
- Suppose you have 1000 pages so 17k users from different countries should visit these pages which will be without ads (Or will see cheap third Party ad networks ads which will pay you nothin. Very irrelevant to your content).
- From 18 decmber all my precious content and ORGANIC traffic is going in the hands of Third Party Ad networks. Which pays me Nothing.


In my case
- I Have 1 million pages and traffic to these pages is 4k per day.
- This 10k makes 3k bot visits everyday. All traffic is lost without ad.
- it will take 1 years for my site get indexed by the Adsense Bot.
- Adsense Bot only display ads on the crawled pages.
- Crawled pages are droped from adsense cache in 14 days.
- hOW IT IS POSSIBLE TO BRING 1 MILLION VISITORS from each country every 14 days ?

What is wrong after Bidding update of 18 dec.
- Organic traffic to the sites like me. Who have big number of pages, but less traffic Is going useless OR Other third party ad networks are adverstising and pays pennies.
- for example a site with 0.1 million pages having daily traffic of 5k from different regions (countries). Its pages will not be crawled from every country and not all pages. Never get the coverage required.
- The ad space for Adwards Adverstisers is limited to only crawled pages and thus Adverstisers are paying more for the same number of leads.
- All the organic traffic and leads are going to the Third party ad network adverstisers.
- Ads which appear because of third party adverstisers are Very very irrelevant to the content.

People with Blogs on Blogger and Shared hosting.
- People who are using google's blogger. After this update having huge crawler errors. Because per second adsense bot visits are limited on a IP address.
- Blogger have 5-6 universal IP addresses, high traffic on these blogs pings very big ammount of request to adsense bot. Surpassing adsense bot limit for a IP address.

- If google hosting is facing Crawler issue. You can think how about crawler issues of Shared hosting.
- Only way is to change the hosting. As adsense bot have visit limits for every IP address where your blog is hosted. There are thousands of blogs hosted on the same ip. Each blog traffic trigger adsense bot to visit this IP. But as Its one IP and a lot of blog and lot of AD request adsense do not visit all requested URL'S.

All of you guys arre facing problem in February because your january pages which got crawled (i think 10% of your content was crawled). Got dropped out of cache. Adsense cache is cleared every month or 14 days for some dynamic content accounts.

You should complaint to adsense regarding this new Stupid Policy.

I also mailed google. They were also reviewing my site. But unfortunatly at that time my site was down. Now i sent them one more mail.

Just contacted Google, hoping for a positive reply.

Slight tangent, but hear me out.

I got an email 13 hours ago, saying ad serving has been disabled on my site. However, ads are still being served.

As far as I know, there's nothing wrong with my content. This has happened before in October.

The difference is this time around, instead of the email listing my disabled site as example.com, it is example.com/postpage
Plus another example.com/postpage which it says is an example of the policy violation.

When this happened previously, the resolution was removing the "violating" page completely till ad serving was restored.
Then I reinstated the pages, without ads - because 404s were racking up.

This time around, I have only removed ads from the new flagged page.

My guess is some overzealous foot soldier disabled ad serving, and it was overturned by someone else.
My policy center says I have no violations.

I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

No Ad Experience Report yet for any of my websites. With the 30-day grace period I guess there's no real rush but I'd like to know.

They can just release a web tool to check ad experience! Everyone can manually check the site and fix the errors.

@chaudhary - where did you get that information? It does not sound very logical and resource-wise for google.

Probably this is not resource-wise question, but question of priorities.
Google hardcoded priorities from now on are:
1. Advertisers
2. Visitors
3. Publishers
So, if something is wrong regarding the publishers, then there is no reason to rush. Not a priority.
They will adjust crawling process and ad service, but when everything else will be adjusted.
Sounds reasonable for me. They announced far ago, that they are not interested in mass publishing. They are expecting plumbers, doctors and all others will return from job, have quick dinner and write content on the stuff they are familiar with, reply visitors questions, deal will tech probs and so on. And sure they will be not interested in monetization. Ideal Google world.
So, why care about publishers?

@Chaudhary depends on what you mean. I did hear back from Google around the first and they said after review, everything would be fine in 24 hours but it was not fine, my revenue never recovered and is about as low as it can go. Then they try to say my 80% revenue loss was due to lower traffic (traffic remains roughly the same.)

@Chaudhary I certainly agree with this. I have been seeing the same results.

I have compared coverage every two weeks and have seen similarities that reveal some kind of reset. Coverage drops every two weeks most likely cause they refresh their crawler cache then the next week is 10% higher, then back down again. Why they would do that at such short time periods is beyond me. The urls and content residing on them are all the same the first time they crawled them and shouldn't have to be reindexed two weeks later or even reindexed ever again. Even if they need to be reindexed, why not keep serving ads instead of blanks all over again.
