@Nick I just don't understand how they work and how one minute your page RPM can be 40p with a CPC of 5p and then an hour later it shot up to £2.50 p with a CPC of 25p. It makes absolutely no sense to me and if you can understand why all these figures change so often them obviously you're an expert how these things work.

Getting extremely low CPC today and yesterday. Its been very strange.

@Ironside - That scenario makes perfect sense if you're near the beginning of your day (when you see the lower RPM and CPC). Basically, one high value click will radically change RPM and CPC, because they're both averages. Also, if you're in the UK/States, then likely these are both going to jump when people begin to wake up (because clicks from Asia, which will be awake while UK/States sleep will likely be worth a lot less).

The majority of my traffic comes from the US so I suppose I'm not going to start seeing the higher reports until a bit later on in the day here in the UK.

It looks like when you will switch from HTTP to HTTPS, AdSense won't show any ads because of crawl thing.

@MayankParmar I switched a WordPress site to https about 2 weeks ago, and I haven't seen an AdSense ad since then.

I have switched to https a few weeks ago and I wont see ads until I manually open the fresh published post and wait for 10 minutes or so.

My earnings are still very low and I don't have any idea what to do. At least one person posted here (during the whole blank ad spaces debacle) a step by step of what they did/had to do in order to get their adsense earnings back up (ex., they had to clear crawler errors, etc.) ...can anyone else humor me and do that?

We are an evergreen reference site still with pretty good traffic - we have added some more information....but about January 22 our earnings started falling and never recovered. We have fallen in the SERPS by one position or so but we are still on page 1 for the relevant keywords... been around since 2002.

No idea what else to do. Having said that, we are not currently using doubleclick or adx, and not sure there's any point in trying (I don't know anything about it and it looks insanely difficult.) Will go haunt the DFP forum now...

@unShiny you're not alone, my earnings have divebombed and at the moment and making anywhere between £3 and £4.50 a day. Three years ago I was on £600 a month and then that suddenly dropped almost overnight down to £300 a month and for the last couple of years I've been anywhere between £200 and £250 a month. January will be the first month where I am well below the £200 mark and this month is looking even worse.

@Unshiny I'm not aware of any such guide, as far as I know, you cannot fix blank ad spaces thing. You can open the pages manually from all regions, devices to enable ads.

And there's nothing we can do. Things slightly improved for me, but it's still -40% vs January. We can only wait and watch, DFP won't help now, you need a manager for that :D

It's just a guess since you have changed to https, maybe Google now see's your website as completely new one, maybe the algorithm is more aggressive. Are you sure that the Adsense bot can crawl your website?

I am against changing to https, we don't need it for news websites. Well valentines day is coming up and rpm has climbed a bit, the highest in Feb so far, its the same level as ending of Jan. February started as a big crash just like 1st of January but steadily climbing.

Let's hope Google doesn't ruin it with the chrome update.

@Kash I do not support HTTPS either, at least for news sites - but Chrome's next update will mark HTTP sites as non-secure. So everyone should be switching to HTTPS before summer, and my point is: AdSense will recrawl the entire site that switches to HTTPS, no ads in the meantime!

For anyone who has updated to HTTPS. Have you gone to the Google console and added the https: url for your site? That was what I did. It does take a lot of time to reindex. But I still see my adsense ads.

I'm not a betting man but I would definitely bet that a properly conducted change from http to https is not the cause of your problem.

Not one single Adsense ad since the switch? There has to be another reason.

My 700+ page plus website appeared to be fully re-crawled within a week. That was about four months ago.

I will say that about a month a go i changed a 2600+ page site to https.. never noticed a lack of ads.. all pages were reindexed within a few days.. i did add the site back to webmaster tools as https though.

Well google has been saying this for a while, I remember reading about it last year. Our site is marked non-secure anyway, so what's gonna be different? I really don't see the point. The rankings are improving every day in google. Users still flood in and recommend our content.

We lost some traffic due to facebook feed changes, Mr Suckerberg believes everyone lives would be better with promoted ads in the feed, luring in small business to pay and expand their pages then saying our pages are useless. That's okay, search engine traffic is working way better than expected :D

A huge mess happened.

For some reason my 2017 1099 was sent to an address that is at least 12 years old. I've had at least 6 addresses since then, and haven't even lived in that state since 2010. Several other publishers, including a friend of mine, had the same issue.

So my 1099 got bounced back and created a "verify address" prompt and put my payments on hold.

This is all alien to me, as I've been an Adsense publisher for 15 years and never did this before.

Today I received my Adsense PIN. I entered the PIN and hit submit - upon doing that it redirected me to the main page of my account.

The red bar prompt vanished and I'm no longer being asked to verify my address.

However, should there be a green "verified" next to the address?

I updated my W9 last week and that says "verified" next to it, but it doesn't say that next to my address.

Just trying to ensure that my payment (which is large) goes out next week as scheduled.

I'm curious where will Unilever move ads. It pays pennies and totally depends on huge traffic flow. Such amount of traffic can deliver only Google, FB or p*rno.
In fact, I would be glad, if companies like Unilever would go elsewhere with their mass advertising. There is no reason for G. to work harder on contextual ads, when they have companies like Unilever as a customers. G. is receiving billions with no efforts. We're receiving pennies, since visitors are fed up already with Unilever ads, watching TV.
I hope G. will say to Unilever: "OK guys, you want prime traffic? Pay prime rates. No money, no honey."

I've never received a 1099 from Google, and I've had the same address since the beginning.
