@filbiz

You are right about outdated ads in Ad review center.
I have checked it this morning not only I found lot of trash ads I have mentioned in earlier posts but under ads with top impressions are ads from Presidential elections that ended January 11th (8 days ago). That was suspicious because Ad review center purpose is to review and eventually block unwanted ads.
The question is how to block ad from presidential candidate which lost elections 8 days ago and doesn't advertise any more :)

That is why I think that additional to seasonal oscillations there is a problem with whole engine (Croatian market is probably last one to be updated).

Thanks for response!

Just to add to my previous post.

January, 11th was electoral silence day ( advertising forbidden) so Ad review center shows 9 day old ads.

:Ad review center" seems to be a forgotten place.
I have 24h delay activated.
I block an advertiser in those 24, but I see them as "increasing" 24h later !

This another broken thing in Adx/Adsense.

Do not speak about the Adx reporting interface, witch is now horrible AND without mobile support.

CPC continues to fall off the map. Some ads I am seeing are cut off. Like the stupid arrow button is cut in half.

Some ads I am seeing are cut off.

I've been seeing that most of the month, especially in Chrome, which seems particularly ironic.

I'm tired! 90% of my clicks are deleted!

I mean 90 %, maybe more

I agree I went from 1000+ / day for the last 3 years to not breaking 300... Ya not me it's them.

The cut off ad thing - I sent in a support issue about that, and was told they were aware, and were working on it. At that time (which was a couple weeks ago) they thought they had it down to only happening on 5% or less of ads served. They also said if I changed my font to Verdana or Lora, it wouldn't happen. I did, and so far I haven't seen a cut off ad since.

Switched to Verdana no more cut off ad text :)

THX netmeg for the tip

Here's the thing - that additional font load adds milliseconds to the loading time.

The changes might have occured because of some font changes that Google has made to some of the fonts. We noticed a few days ago that there was a new verison of Roboto and some dimensions had changed (needed a few CSS fixes on the site).

Just saying ... if you're running a highly optimised site, you need text ads to load with the same font as the page.

I need to tell you something:

In the last week, I did not see any new "Download button" ad, or any new Adware site on ADX and Adsense.

They use to put 20 sites/week and hundreds of ads, so this is not a mistake.

I believe that Google finally blocked them, with the exception of Mindspark (ask.com toolbars).

Mindspark was the least aggressive advertiser of this kind.

Monday was a good day, after a not so good week-end.

Later edit:
[globes.co.il...]

This can be a cause for my happiness !

Genio was the only company with adware for mac!

@netmeg - did you saw effects in the same day you made the changes ?

I changed the font-family to Verdena from Optimal for 3 hours and I see how my clicks are deleted.
At font-size I use Optimal. Should I make changes here, too ?
Thx!

Yep, pretty much immediately. But changing the font ONLY has to do with ads that seem cut-off on the bottom, not any other issues that I'm aware of.

The deleted clicks have nothing to do with the font. They likely have to do with increased bot activity. It's happening across the whole AdSense network as near as I can tell, and it's just something to live with till it abates or Google figures out how not to count it in the first place.

Ah...ok :( I was thinking it is about deleted clicks.
I am exasperated, for example,
at 11:30 am, I had 5 clicks and 1.5 euro earning.
at: 11: 50 am, I had 8 clicks and 2 euro
at 12: 30 am, I had 20 clicks and 4 euro
at 1:30 p.m, I had 18 clicks and 4.2 euro --less clicks, more money
at 2:00 p.m, I had 30 clicks and 7 euro
at 2:30 p.m., I had 25 clicks and 1 euro ---- the resulted CPC was of 0.04Euro ?!
at 2:50 p.m. I had 18 clicks and 0.8 euro

Whatever bot activity is there this can't be true. Also, why doesn't google provides a list of ips from which were made invalid clicks within bot activity so we can block the access on our sites. I can't detect what ips are doing bot activity.

If it were not for the clicks being taken away, I'd wonder if this was "Smart Pricing"

I have--at least temporarily--switched over to Media.net. They are out performing Adsense at this point.

Because that's not how they work. They will never give us that information; believe me I rattled a lot of cages last year to no avail.

If I were to guess (and it's completely a guess) I would say that Google might be overcompensating on taking back suspected invalid clicks, because it's more important to them to preserve the trust of the advertisers than to pay out to publishers (and it's important to us that the advertisers trust the network too - don't forget that)

Google bought a company to help them battle click fraud ([businessinsider.com ]) and after about two months, the bot activity seemed to drop way way down. Might be related, might not; Google will never say. But I'm hoping that they're using this technology to figure out how to combat the current botitude.

Pro tip: if you have your AdSense linked to your Google Analytics account, then go look for your earnings there. In my experience, if the clicks make it into Analytics, they usually stick around.

@netmeg

I agree with you in relation to the part that we have all got no choice but to agree to the rules that big G is making us to agree, and it is indeed important to us to in some respect, but what I do not agree with is that sooner or later, if what is currently going on with AdSense will continue, AdSense will start running out of publishers like us as majority of the small and medium size sites have already discovered additional options with what they can monetize their websites one of which is Media.net or many other alternatives.

As for Analytics, it is currently showing completely different information compared to adsense, Analytics shows lot less clicks and revenue then my Adsense is reporting for almost over 3 weeks now. So at this point of time it is not clear which one out of 2 I should trust?

Out of curiosity, how is yours doing?

Monday's PVs normal, CTR way down again however EPC for UK and US seemingly good thanks to a couple of very good clicks on small specialist widget sites, without those Monday would have veen very low.

Today is back to disaster land again with low CTR and ultra low EPC.

Nothing really to add but I feel your pain.
Traffic up (the best it has been in over a year)but CTR and EPC down.
More traffic = less money right now.

Is it higher then yours? I am surprised as my normal RPM is in a range of £20. I just thought it was pretty low for this time of year.

I would like to say it depends on your niche or traffic source, but my RPM is terribly low. Especially right now.

Google is never going to run out of publishers. Never ever ever. Put that out of your head. Yes of course there are alternatives; I use media.net myself, but it doesn't even make up 1% of what I earn from AdSense - and no other network I've tried has even made as much as media.net.

I can't speak to why your Analytics and AdSense don't show the same. It could be a number of things. For one thing, Analytics won't show AdSense for Search earnings, and at one point they weren't showing link unit revenue either - I don't know if that's fixed, because I don't run link units anymore. My Analytics earnings are almost always extremely close to my AdSense earnings (except for the Search money) and always have been - except when there are lots of ad-clicking bots. And in that case, I usually get PAID closer to what it shows in Analytics.

I'm doing fine. I'm above January of last year, and that's all I care about. My peak time is summer, so these months are just basically gas and pizza money (well not really, but compared to summer they are) I've never had a worse year than the year before it, but the metrics change around. This year my CTR is way up, but my EPC is down. A couple years ago, it was exactly the opposite. But that's the nature of AdWords and AdSense.

Nope, unfortunately I am nowhere near to the results of the January last year, Just traffic that is up by 45-50%

Looking at yesterday compared to 1 year ago my PVs are double what they were and my CPC is exactly 50% of what it was last year. My clicks are down 42% but I don't know how many have been shaved during the day. Revenue for the day was down 70% compared to a year ago. I saw something similar to this sometime last year and Adsense did return to normal.

I use Media.net. Even after working with them, I don't like their ad layouts. They don't come close to Adsense in revenue.

Compared to last year I am not even half of the revenue yet traffic is the same or better. Adsense is just removing way too many clicks yet for the last 3 1/2 years I had no issues with the amount of clicks I was getting in a day and now they are invalid? yea no...
