The red bar consistently equates only one thing for me and that is always a lower CTR and, of course, that's what happened Sunday, clicks 30% down.

I have one site that is affected by the dropping epc. It also happened last October. Same site, significant drop in epc. It lasted about 3 weeks and then the epc returned. So it seemed like a glitch on Google's end. This could be the same thing.

Wtf? Just checked my account and CPC is 47.8% of average, this equals my lowest-ever day so far, come on US, kick some butt!

RPM is in a free fall since January 9th it seems. Did something change? Good traffic, very low RPM. Normally this will correct itself after a week or so, just a shame it happens on high traffic days this time.

What a bizarre Monday with clicks at 140% yet only just managing to reach slightly above average earnings. Without US and Pakistan's healthy CPCs it would have been awful, yes, I did write Pakistan!

The UK's CPC was my worst of the year, it's depreciating like the currency has been recently.

Lots of days with delayed clicks so far this month. 3rd day in a row for me.

For me today is simply diabolical with CTR halved and CPC from the US and UK also at 50%, WTF is going on?

13 was good, 14 seems good as well, for the moment.

I hope it sticks!

Definitely a roller coaster thing going on. Right now on the upside, with average EPC over three bucks a click. Yesterday it was around twenty cents. AdSense be trippin.

But overall I'm up over last year. And I'm determined to just keep looking at the overall instead of sweating the day to day.

Seeing biggest CPC drop on high end mobile device (aka phones) January MTD compared to 2014 January. What that means, at least for my industry (high end retail), is that advertisers are "pulling back" on spend on mobile. Google just can't figure this out. My prediction that mobile advertising gets "pushed" more aggressively on advertisers stands...it's really the only way I can think of that Google Adwords continues to grow revenue.

I'm seeing the same sudden drop in CPC over the last week or so - down to around 30% of the same period last year. Mobile is by far the worst performing platform for me.

Hopefully just a temporary glitch....

Something is very wrong with the force, if after 10 years of being a publisher, I have to chime in and concur with some of the old timers here.

Severe drop across desktops, tablets and HEMs.

Severe drop in US RPM...

Seeing significant amounts of claw-back... (estimated revenue drops after 1 hour ... rather than go up!)

Yes, the clawbacks are back after not seeing any for a few months. CPC and CTR are at all time lows with no change in traffic.

To add more to shri and SEO2Go, the CPC, CTR and RPM are on the lowest in 10 years for my niche on 7 different websites, amount of clicks on 4 of the sites are higher by almost 40% but revenue is down by 35-40% compared to the last year and year before. Traffic on these 4 website is also up by 30-40% in comparison to the same periods. Mobile Adds clicks on Tablets are higher than usual but generated revenue is much lower than usual, very similar situation with HEMs, but vice-versa. I think I am going to switch to Bing for a while to see how their adds perform.

I've been low since December... enough to make me do my usual thing of changing everything around on the site, to try and claw some back.
I know that is daft, because it's probably just a lack of advertisers, or advertisers spending less money, but I always come out of these things better in the end. It makes you look at your site all over again, to see how you can improve placements and targeting etc. you've just got to wait it out, and work on the site in the meantime. once you have ridden out the storm (which is pretty stormy this time!) you invariably end up doing better.

I had an extraordinary turnaround yesterday resulting in my highest PVs, clicks and earning's day of 2015.

30.6% from Smartphones and 22% from tablets!

I have removed adsense for the time being as it's insulting. Nothing has changed in placement on my site or traffic wise and only one unit is above the fold with the rest being below yet big G is removing click after click from my site since mid November when I had downtime. Went from a 1000+ click/day website which it has pulled for well over 2+ years to not even breaking 200.

I'll be removing Adsense this weekend, myself. The ads are ugly, irrelevant, image ads appear despite having text only selected....and what little money I make these days is gradually pulled back during the day.

I see a lot of complete trash in the SERPS, so perhaps our traffic is a mess also? I wonder if people are getting to my site from inquiries that are so far off the mark, it's causing a mess for clicks. Glad I'm not alone on this though.

Me too although it is utterly bizarre what seems to be happening for us...we have had the busiest start to a year, ever, for our realworld widgets, in fact some of the biggest project enquiries and orders I have ever seen in 47 years yet when trying to find just how we got those enquiries, before asking the client, we do not seem to be able to find any clear trackbacks.

In other words until we asked the client there was no obvious referral trail.

A lot of us went through something similar last spring. Lots of clawbacks. A google guy told me that their system is nearly always under attack but it is often worse in the spring and last spring was especially bad. So bad that we could see it on our end. Could be happening again. A sudden low CTR and low epc are Google's way of protecting the advertisers while trying to get things under control.

@ember, so in other words, earnings not posted, and not redeemable earnings during this period. Your theory makes sense. I'm along for the ride and not driving the bus, so I guess it is what it is.

I've seen an uptick in clawbacks too, and also some known rogue bots that I blocked seem to be back with new IP blocks. So there's that. I suspect that bot activity everywhere is way way up.

I'm new to Adsense, only a couple of months in real experience, and have only about 500 views a day, but I can tell there's something wrong as far as click count is concerned (compared to a month ago at least). Some website I visit replaced ads with a link to Twitter/Facebook to follow..

And today, for the first time ever (for me atleast) ... cannot get adsense unit code from the backend.

Yes, there is a disturbance in the force at the plex.
