Cute!
@tony I think what was meant by "handbrake" was that the earnings suddenly stopped.

I performed a little test over the past 4 days. I gave media.net about 50,000 impressions per day. The result: $3.00 per day average. LOL. Media.net failed again.

AdSense restricted demand on one page due to sexual content. The article is about software icon and has nothing to do with human skin let alone sexual content.

Lockdowns increased traffic for me but decreased CPC, resulting in roughly the same monthly AdSense revenue.

I have removed all advertising providers except Adsense from my websites. Exponential, Infolinks, and Media.net are gone for now. Their monetary return doesn't make up for their slowing down (primarily Exponential) my websites. I may miss that few hundred dollars a month, but it already looks like my Adsense revenue and click are increasing as a result of their removal.

Sometimes I believe when you gave G everything it's performing the best. Like being punished when you remove the search box... I didn't earn much with it but after removing I lost a lot at the CPM from Adsense. I was sick about their search box because I had to scroll down a lot till I could see the search results instead of the ads above it.

For the record, Exponential was doing very well for me until COVID. Ever since then, past year or so, the revenue from them has been about 20% of what it was…and is decreasing.

Runfun, I haven't used the Google search box for years. They had less than 50% of my site indexed, and it remains that way today. No wonder people couldn't find what they were looking for.

I have nothing but Adsense on my sites (except for one media.net ad and one direct advertisers on one page). I've found that adding other networks cannibalizes Adsense, the result being the same revenue with Adsense alone or with Adsense and other networks. I think it's all part of Google's plan to keep other networks off my sites.

@ember I think you are right. My revenue is already up about 16% over the previous week since removing the other providers.

I think it's all part of Google's plan to keep other networks off my sites.
What? Google's plan! No it is the expected outcome. You are showing ads from two networks on one page. Assuming that the number of ads clicked stays constant, an assumption that is likely to hold when measured across a large number of page views or a long time frame, each ad clicked that isn't AdSense results in fewer AdSense clicks but no additional clicks overall. Given also that the ads from two different ad networks appear side by side and each is independent of the other, there is no competition between the two sources of demand and so price for ads on both networks is far from optimal. Furthermore, since your ad clicks are divided between two networks your CTR is likely to be lower for both and thus ad auctions will see lower demand and price.
The only way to show ads from two or more networks is to use Ad-Manager (or similar) such that the networks must compete for the ad units. Then price determines whether the ad is from AdSense or another network. This increases demand and pushes up prices. My guess (ie: I don't know this to be fact) is that the same buyers are likely buying in both networks so the increase in demand is not likely to be linear. On the same basis, thus showing two networks in parallel (without competition) would allow these buyers to buy ads on the network that is offering lower prices, again costing you.

NickMNS, I was kind of joking about Google having a plan, but your explanation about competing networks is excellent. I get that I need to use Ad Manager to increase network competition to raise prices. I actually tried AM back in the day and gave up, which is why I just use one network now. When I have some free time - ha, ha - I might look at AM again.

I too used Ad Manager back in the day, for about one month, and the results were much lower than the plug-n-play Adsense code. I never went back. Maybe AM much better now, but I still see too many people complain about it recently.
I did notice that Ad Manager and it’s code seemed to produce faster loading web pages than the native Adsense code, which I thought was strange.

Yes because adm has a feature to lazy load ads, which api has a feature to pre-fetch ads, pre-renders ads when its away from certain view ports
googletag.pubads().enableLazyLoad({ // Fetch slots within 5 viewports. fetchMarginPercent: 500, // Render slots within 2 viewports. renderMarginPercent: 200, // Double the above values on mobile, where viewports are smaller // and users tend to scroll faster. mobileScaling: 2.0 });
We can implement lazyload with adsense, but the fetch feature will not be available

We lost control over several adsense settings since 2016, text,image ads, adbalancer, generate common ad sizes, setting text ad colors, new ui has no way to filter as easily as the old one.

@Niresh12495
This month has been good. It has been better than April, not as good as March. However, I’ve been getting some weird analytics numbers. For instance, the past weekend’s revenue numbers were 25% higher than the previous weekend’s. Good. However, my page views were down 28%. Strange.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I removed all ad providers on my websites except for AdSense. That may account for the 25% increase in revenue. I hope it continues, but today is starting off slow.
