You are mis reading this. Google is implementing a default ad-blocker into Chrome that blocks these "heavy ads" believing that when users install ad blockers their real intention is only to block the heavy-ads. By including the ad-blocker in Chrome by default the users will be satisfied with the default and will not require them to take any further action, thus reducing the probability that users will install 3rd party ad blockers. This ensures that more of Google's own ads are seen and prevents them for paying others to have their ads white-listed.

I believe most of us are having websites and try to make good content but I'm surprised by the junk at YouTube and how many views that junk gets. Is the rise of YouTube in the last years one of the reasons of the decrease of earnings for website owners?

I've two young children watching a lot of YouTube, for example videos of Cars toys. Millions of views but nothing about quality. And my children see adult ads and no not #*$! but about cars (BMW, Ford, etc.) and commercials for beers. Lol, some advertisers waste their money and the websites with quality content don't get much from it.

The thing is a 20 sec video commercial is a lot more attractive to advertisers than a 300x250 rectangle image.

Just noticed a jump in "coverage". Since the brand safety appeared (1 year and a half ago, if I remember correctly), my coverage felt from 90+% to ~60% and never really improved. However, since 15 days, my coverage went suddenly to 80+%.

Also, in the ad review center, I see a lot more ads related to the themes of my sites, which is resulting in an increase of earning from contextual ads, while personalized ads remain the same.

I still see the ads.txt warning message in Adsense, despite all my websites have an ads.txt. (Earnings are normal beside the June update that hit me too..=( ). Does anybody has also the message still in the account visible? Adsense support did not answer...

Yes, same here, the message about ads.txt appeared some weeks ago, all my sites have one ... Considering I have only one main site, and one hobby one, it's easy to check :).

The message is still here, my adsense code is not supposed to be served elsewhere , since I restricted the usage to only approved sites.

Might be a glitch, didn't see any impact on income.

In all events, there is no point in checking the adsense stats all day long, this is not going to improve your earnings :)

I used to look once in the morning , to have an idea of the earnings from the previous day and night, and also review new ads. Now, it's once or twice a week max.

About two years ago, I received a similar infringement note (explicit sexual content) for a website covering museums and art exhibitions because of an old photo of a nude Japanese woman (rather chaste, a barely visible bare breast) on show in a modern design exhibition at The Milan's Triennale Museum (open to schools, children and families with no restrictions whatsoever), the problem was that the "woman" was actually a...doll, as clearly indicated in the image caption.
More than American puritanism, it was a problem of myopia I guess...

I don't think he wanted to be offensive, maybe he used the wrong words to express his thought.
As a matter of fact, US-based companies are more sensitive to nudity than European ones. Yet, to protect children from sexually explicit and/or violent and/or offensive content is highly commendable and I think no one wants Google to allow children to access inappropriate content.
Though, not all nude figures are also "sexually explicit", I remember FB censoring posts with pictures of Copenhagen's "Little Mermaid" statue and even of the David by Michelangelo because they were featuring nudity. That's clearly too much. As always, a bit of common sense (human, not AI's) would help to take the right decision about what is sexually explicit and what is not.

Right now Google is the big dog. Instead of wondering why it won't let you show certain pictures, which will get you nowhere, maybe think about producing content that it likes and will reward. Instead of fighting Google, play its game. If your goal is to make money, then you have to play the game - Google's game. If you want to just create content you like without the goal of making money from it, that's fine. It's just a different goal.
