I've had days the last couple of days that had 0.02 CPC. 0.02 ! When my average the past years was .10. I mean, it's never been so low. Yet, Google was kind enough to raise to CTR so that i earnt more or less the same each day.

I've said it in the past, but i'm pretty sure Google just give you whatever money they want and adjust those numbers accordingly.

Andymorris you are misunderstanding what Adsense are trying to achieve - they aim to maximize rpm, so they might show an ad paying 5c which they think 3% will click on, or paying 50c they think 0.3% will click on - the CPC and CTR are not important.

I've done it! I have made it... I finally done the unthinkable. My final balance for the month of July is more than my ending estimated earning. Yes sir! negative claw-back.... Okay well not really, the ending balance in my payments was $0.70 more than the estimated earnings and I had a $0.30 clawback reported (invalid clicks), this nets out to $0.40 more than the estimated total. As you can gather these amounts are so small that they are less than negligible, but it is a matter of principle.

So for those Google conspiracy theorists out there that say Google only ever takes money with the end of month adjustments here is proof that is not always the case.

Now back to reality. earnings increased in July as compared to June but this was entirely the result of increased traffic. RPM month over month took a hit in July. The overall trend remains the same for me, more traffic == lower RPM.

@Nick I worked my clawback to be 0.1% which in monetary terms is 15p which was taken off earnings into the low three figures.

Day 4 of the 'visit site' hit. Revenue has dropped 50% while removing potentially misclick banners like the autoads has dropped it another 10%. It is supposed to automatically correct itself after some point, right? Or should I start looking for higher CPM banners for these spots? It's typically very hard to get banners to pay more than Adsense, but when they make it harder and harder to actually earn money from these spots, competition looks more appealing.

0.1% clawback here as well.

How is Google planning to recover $5 billion then?

Well, they took from me 14% and rewarded me with the lowest RPM ever today... :))

Clawback here was less than 10% but when earnings are low to mid 4 figures a month with Adsense I don't complain.

No questions are dumb. But, there are plenty of dumb answers.
I wouldn't know Jack, if I didn't ask a lot of stupid questions. I learned a lot of stuff, from helpful people, RIGHT HERE.

Clawback refers to money that AdSense has said you made, and then TAKEN IT BACK.

In the past, clawback was a monthly thing. People used to complain about monthly double-digit clawbacks, without explanation.
Then, Google wised-up, and did the clawbacks WITHIN MINUTES, and that is how it works now.
So, the monthly clawbacks have improved greatly, since you no longer see them.

How do I know this?
I started checking my earnings in the morning EVERY 10 minutes.
Big click. Check again, gone. Another big click. Check again, gone.
This type of scrutiny revealed the painful truth. The money disappeared almost instantaneously.
I don't need to keep doing this. Alia iacta est, from my old Latin. (The "die is cast", when Caesar crossed the Rubicon.)
Translation: It's A Done Deal. Move on, Think about something else.

Google needs to get one step better - don't show the click AT ALL.
Easy. Just delay reporting to the publisher from 20 minutes to 30 minutes. Then, everyone will shut up, because they WON'T SEE anything!

The Solution? Get better, unpenalized clicks, from a better class of people. YOU must figure out how to do this.
A lot of folks are working on this right now. Not me. Too many OTHER things to try to figure out.
Such as, just WTH is going on with THIS, and THAT, and THE OTHER? Way bigger questions.
.

Summer traffic gave me my biggest month of the year. Clawback was relatively decent all things considered. Probably have a couple more good months ahead as I have to put nuts away for the winter.

July was the best since I'm using Adsense and August looks promising so far. Already huge improvement compared to July. And Adsense isn't even my most important way of earning with my website.

haha i'm glad i made the Headline of the thread, although not for a glorious moment in history of adsense.

Stats seem a bit stuck today as well, but CPC has gone up. To a huge .6 !

As I was expecting August is getting to a new low point.
Adx was down and now Adsense is getting there too.

@Dimitri I asked them and they haven't responded yet. Truth to be told, AdSense support is much better and quicker.

August sucks big time.

Anyone else seeing low earnings this weekend? I mean due to the types of sites I have weekends are always the lowest. But never this low. Im talking maybe 1 click every few hours. Its crazy. Yesterday I was minus 10 bucks from the previous Saturday. The clicks I do get are like pennies. My coverage is good, ads are displaying just fine. No violations showing as far as I can tell.

Today is looking quite promising. CPC is 23p, page RPM is £2.80 and so far I've had 17 clicks. It's still very early in the US where the lion's share of my traffic comes from so quite a few hours to go for me.

Well this is freaking me out. Wonder if the end is near...Last click was like 3 hours ago. All last week I was having one of my best weeks in a long time. Friday was great, then splat. Saturday just fell flat on its face and it has continued today. If the same thing happens tomorrow, the best day of the week for me any other time, then its probably over.

Yesterday was a good day for me. Ended up with 35 clicks at 24p CPC. Yesterday was an above-average day for me nowadays.

I just noticed that I am getting more earnings in my below the fold ad units as compared to my above the fold.. it's been a week now.

A lot of my earnings come from my mobile ads. I've checked out my website on a mobile phone and the ads that come up are actually non-invasive which hopefully won't annoy my visitors, they will only click on them if they want to.

It wouldn't surprise me if back in the good old days Google weren't as particular about invalid clicks than they are nowadays. So maybe earnings were more because people were clicking on ads by accident and we were still getting the money, just a thought.

Well I believe why my earnings dropped. My traffic seemed to drop a little too over the weekend. It appears Google released a major core update on the same day, the 4th, my earnings dropped. Great.

Something's up with Adsense this morning. Despite having lost traffic as a result of the latest update my RPM stayed strong over the past few days. But this morning, CTR is at less than 1/10th of one percent. That is less than 1 in 1000 impressions results in a click. Needless to say RPM is negatively impacted.

@NickMNS Yeah seeing similar issues. My traffic took a slight hit over the weekend but my earnings took a hit as well. Today just awful. I can only hope it gets back to normal once this new core update is done. They said they are still rolling it out and wont be done until mod week.
