Traffic dropped, AdSense dropped.

August is a huge holiday month for my industry especially in Europe however it seems to be quieter than in previous years. I'm seeing "sort of" widget trade-related ads but the regular directly related ads are far and few between, I'm assuming this is the holiday effect.

From my experience in the semiconductor industry (way back when), you couldn't get anything done in Europe in August, because nobody was home. I believe that the whole of Europe takes the entire month of August off. Everybody's standard vacation. Especially Germany, as I recall. I think it has been this way for decades, and will continue to be so.

Many in the U.S. take vacations in the fall, but there is no coordinated effort for everyone to vacation in August, like there is in Europe. So, I can readily understand a large impact on European traffic during August. Maybe Caesar had something to do with it. From 10th grade Latin class, I remember his full name was Gaius Julius Caesar Octavianus Augustus. Later, it was simply Augustus Caesar. Let's blame it on him. ;<)

Big drop in CPC/CPM last days but not in visitors. Guess it's the August in Europe reason so I'll lower the amount of impressions for Adsense this month.

The traffic is now a nightmare.
I was at the beach this weekend and it was like China at rush hour, but this is not something new but is getting worse.

For me, since the end of March (the latest down bump), the problem is payment, not traffic!

I am observing somewhat stable RPM recovery from last month for about ~10~15%.

Has anyone noticed a drop in coverage over the past few weeks for desktop, tablet and other devices? I used to be around 95%+ for Desktop, Mobile, other devices and tablets. Over the past few weeks I am:

- Tablets - 70%
- Other devices - 70%
- High-end mobile devices - 95%
- Desktop - - 70%

Anyone ever see a drop like this on your site? If so, what did you do to fix?

I had to remain off line for a year, when I returned, my coverage was around 50% (all devices), whereas it used to be 95+ %. I discovered it was because of the Adsense's brand safety. Over the time, the coverage increased slowly, and last month it was nearly 75% . But, this month, it felt back to 50%. So may be lack of advertisers in my niches. But it's summer, and vacations... or a reset of the adsense 's index.

Except for Link units, the other adsense slots are blank. Noticed this for past 4 hours.

Heck of a day today. Everything way up. Which means tomorrow will not be a heck of a day.

Since the 2nd week of August the typical August drop but CTR raised. I'm looking forward to next month.

My summer sites have done well this summer. So advertisers ARE out there, as ARE users, but like all things regarding success in business it's about right place, right time - quite the crapshoot. Winter might be a different story.

I'm facing a sudden ads drop on my blog, my website is growing day after day and i worked very hard since 2 last years, in the last week i've noticed an auglentation of 200k viewed page daily for only two days ( 25% of my real viewed pages ), i thought that one or more competitor's websites was down , with +30% viewed page = +30% ads income. Now i'm facing a sudden ads earning drop ( 70% - 80% ) and the ctr is down to 0.07% ( i had 26% since 1 year ).

I 'think that i'm facing worse competitor who did that.

Did you have any advice please? Should i contact adsense and report this guy ? or waiting until my website will be recovered?

Whenever there is downfall in Adsense earnings, there is a Google update.
Google is all about maintaining its quarterly profits.

Yesterday was awful, today's figures are well up. CPC is 36p, although I've only had a clicks so far today. It's still fairly early in the US so hopefully that figure will not drop too much and I'll have a half decent day.

I hope you mean you had 0.26% of CTR, because it's impossible to have such huge CTR ! No matter your niche. If you really had 26% of CTR, you were obviously doing something very fishy (misleading placement, forced click, etc...) , so IF this was the case, then you were certainly caught, and this explains the drop you are observing now, and Adsense no longer validating clicks resulting from abusive placements.

I'm sorry about the mistake. You're right i mean 0.26% and now it's 0.07-0.08 %.

After adding new ads block and change placement ( like adviced on ezoic blog) , i'm waiting .

Will update this post if my website will be recovered from the penalty.

Anyone seeing an increase in image ad CTR today?

it's been months since text ads are no longer earning me anything. Only display ads. I don't know if people are getting totally blind at text ads, or advertisers focusing more on their display creatives. Or Google pushing advertisers to use display ads, instead of text ones, or ...

I hope that too Mayank. It seems like a long haul. The good thing is that it forced me to update/add content to the pages I had been postponing for a long time.

Until last week, Link Units have always been showing extremely well targeted keywords, and producing rather good results. However, all of a sudden, at all of my sites, Link Units are totally off topic, but really by far, and they don't even look like to be related to the browsing history either. As a result, for the last week ,my earnings from Link Units is "0" while it was several dollars per day so far (same number of impression). Anybody else?
