How can something that's in a constant state of flux ever be "fixed?" Couldn't help throwing that out there. ;) I'm in my typical state of disbelief but am sure something will change today or tomorrow or the next day. For better or worse? Who knows? It's summer so roller-coaster riding is in season. Whoopie!

webcentric you make a good point. Google will always be testing/breaking their own systems; I did not intend to get people all excited that we are in the clear. I simply was suggesting that the recent "bug"/issue seems to be corrected (for those that were affected).

Incredible and here's why. I am seeing most of my text ads WITHOUT the Advertiser domain/URL displayed. That whole part of the text ads is removed. I remember someone mentioning also seeing this being tested a few weeks ago. IF Google keeps with this text ads version I will be a happy publisher!

June 2014 is looking worse than May and May was worse than April and April was worse than February across the board.

Not sure who "we" are or that "we" actually agree on anything around here. The proverbial question is though, is it really a problem with Adsense or is it something else? Like traffic volume perhaps? Traffic quality?

I've been looking back at some previous earnings over the last six months and I was definitely dining more from the same amount of clicks that I have been receiving recently.

I think you'll find that if your site is properly set up for mobile, mobile ads pick up where the desktop leaves off quite nicely. The question is whether you're handling your mobile traffic efficiently or not. Just having a responsive design (or theme) is not necessarily enough. It took some serious tweaking on my part to get ads showing where I wanted them and at the right size and all that good stuff.

I'm finding tablets to be the really valuable target at this stage. Phones are OK, but tablets are the new desktop/laptop for many people and they don't seem at all timid about using them with a desktop mentality (which includes shopping).

From what I can gather, viewing our website on something like an iPhone means that you wouldn't be seeing the width of the website in exactly the same way as you would on a desktop. But like you say, a lot of people are now using tablets which seem to display the website in exactly the way as a desktop. If I look at my website on a mobile, I'm finding that my ad unit comes up first, it's on the left-hand side of the page, then underneath that is all the content. So greedy people are clicking on the ad first. Anyway, things have really got bad lately, I just don't know what's happening

In a responsive design, column widths can adjust according to the size of the viewport, and, at certain breakpoints in width, columns become un-glued from their side-by-side layout and instead, stack on top of one another. If your page is just scaling to the viewport e.g. it's the same thing as on a desktop, just smaller, then you've probably got some work to do if you want to really optimize for mobile. Some designs will shrink column widths but still cram the page onto the screen without consideration for the fact that the content is too large for the columns. This is a complex area if you're building from scratch and is even a bit tricky if you're using a responsive theme (such as in Wordpress). Responsive themes tend to put navigation elements in wierd places and arrange things according to their own set rules. I prefer the flexibility of building it myself but it's a serious challenge to get all the elements flowing the way you want on all devices, even for someone who's been building sites from scratch for over 15 years now.

Tried one. So far, Qadabra has been working for me. It's easy enough and most of the other companies won't accept a small publisher like me so I like that it does. My earnings so far are $0.85 eCPM a day so I'm happy enough. But looks like AdSense is also back to normal?

Editorial considerations may come into play, too. Take paragraph length: What looks fine on a desktop or tablet becomes a big block of text on a smartphone (especially one with a small screen, such as an iPhone). For readability's sake, you may need to break even short paragraphs into shorter paragraphs--but those one- and two-sentence paragraphs may look terrible on a tablet, laptop, or desktop screen.

For our main site, I ended up creating a companion site with a responsive design that's optimized for mobile. The companion site is geared not only to smartphone users, but also to people with normal screens who prefer a Cliff's Notes version because they dislike reading or (in some cases) because English isn't their first language. The new site complements the original site nicely, and it's generating decent revenue for the amount of effort that I put into it.

Odd reversal of several years pattern - CTR is way way up but EPC is way down. Still netting up, but it seems odd.

Meanwhile invalid traffic is almost completely gone (at least, my AdSense numbers match my Analytics numbers within $50, and that's usually a good sign)

Fixed, broken, stuck, delayed, evolving...who can tell anymore. One thing I'm noticing, and probably a reason G started suggesting to everyone to run ads without borders, is that they can't seem to figure out how to align the ad consistently in the ad space. Particularly noticeable in leaderboards. If you have borders on a unit the content is sometimes crammed all the way to the top border. Other times it's vertically spaced properly in the unit. It's less obvious with borders and background set to the page background but still mucks with spacing and it's one of those little things that's driving me nuts from pageview to pageview. Also, ad titles are getting lopped of at the bottom in some cases which has been mentioned before.

I've got a solution for the last problem. Make the titles even bigger Google! I'm sure that's the answer.

Actually, now that I think of it, my CTR is probably down because I went back to using AdSense's search product because I didn't like the one I'd been using previously. Doesn't earn much, but does a good job of searching and displaying results. So that brings the metrics down a bit.

Good, normal day. CPC up. It's just been an excellent month. The metrics have been incredibly consistent and predictable all month. Now let's get paid.

"wim wams" -- Haven't had one of those in hours now but I feel one coming on. acrowams is what I like to call them.

I will probably jinxed myself, but maybe things are looking up. Yesterday was the best day I've had all month, today is certainly looking very promising, let's see what happens & hope this is a turnaround.

Today's been wonderful. It's just better ad delivery, nothing else.

This month has been one of mixed feelings. Since the last panda update, my traffic has been increasing, which in turn is giving me the best month I've had for some time now. When I search text and photographs I've written, I am once more given credit in google search, instead of having scrapers and plagiarists rank way above me. Part of me is of course grateful to have my income return, but on the flip side, I've had nearly a year of lost revenue, which should never have happened.

My traffic doubled since panda 4.0 and my earning graph went down 40%.

Over the past 3 days CPC and RPM are up significantly along with revenue. Nothing *I* did so it must be either something Google did or just one of those things. Even more interesting is that this increase in revenue comes at a point of decreased visits; the lowest three consecutive days in a row in at least a month according to Piwik.

The heading of this thread couldn't be more appropriate. Trying to find patterns in this stuff is pretty useless.
