Today's numbers are starting off VERY low. Great traffic, but low CPC and page RPM. Let's see if it recovers later in the day.

CPC has just crashed. It's almost half of what it usually is. Even traffic is low

So, I today removed Link Ads from my remaining websites and today's (March 9) revenue and page rpm are already higher than yesterday's. Let's see if this continues in the days to follow. My revenue is already up 30% and page RPM has doubled on one website, with 3 hours to go in the day.

Well, today payment is minimum this year.

@gatormark So far, the display ad is actually doing better than the link ad. It could be because I'm using a responsive ad... but it's way too big sometimes and is causing a blank space issue. I am considering 336x280 or 300x250 now.

The platform is desktop and position is after the first two paras.

i left ad links and my rpm is very low. Now I will change to blocks 300x250

Over the past 2 days, my impression RPM and CPC have been better than normal.

Highest earning day in my AdSense journey (if they don't deduct clawback for today)! A massive spike in traffic too because of an exclusive viral story.

The new responsive ad (replacement for link) outperformed all other ads including the header ad which has always been the highest paying ad unit for me.

RPM is so small that you don't want to work these days. -6% BRO!

CPC and RPM is just horrible today so far.

Today is starting off slow, but I was looking at last year's numbers at this time and they were scary bad. I can't believe how bad March's numbers were last year. This time last year, I thought I would have to go back to a "real job," but I survived.

Same here @gatormark, and today is even worse.

We are now around the anniversary date of the global lock-down avalanche last year, when AdSense revenue in many niches tanked. Especially since the beginning of this month I see CTR and CPC rising again in the direction of pre-COVID levels which is for me an indication that the quality and availability of ads is increasing. Advertisers seem to have confidence in the near future in the niches I operate in.

@allhearts is your traffic the same, worse, or better than last year at this time?

Agreed. I'm up 100% over last March which means my revenue is double this time last year. In fact, it's the best year since 2017 for me.

It's down but not by much lately, but today everything is down.

That is really bad, I wonder what's going on.

I think most people were expecting things to get a little better with the link units being retired on the 10th, but so far it has had a reverse effect.

I have noticed that certain numbers will be worse depending on where your traffic is coming from. For instance, if you are receiving traffic primarily from India your numbers will be worse. If your traffic is coming primarily from the USA your numbers will be better.

At least, that’s what I see on my websites. Many of my non-USA numbers are down, but my USA numbers are great and more than make up for it!
