Even at page CTR these numbers are spurious. 1 in 10 page views. Does this include link units?

Something broke yesterday.

- Slow reporting on ad manager
- plummeted payment
- a lot of placements are now blank

And I had a surprisingly good February, but today I'm at 50%.

@Nick MNS
I don t have to justifiy the numbers. They are what they are for specific niches and languages.
You enhance your CTR if users are looking for urgent solutions and you have the right ads.

It doesn t matter what type of ads.

Red bar again today. Annoying.

@Sissi What's your bounce rate? If you have a very low bounce rate probably you can sustain 9% CTR otherwise the site would be doomed SEOwise.

Yep, all is plenty weird in Google land. Today is less than a sixth of what yesterday was. No changes on our end.

@Mentat, yeah, the same. Though in my case there was that HUGE
clawback....

does the clawback really goes to the advertiser's account or is it just filling the pockets of the Google beast here. Insane clawback in the real time and at the end of the month it's the same

There's a reason why Google makes it difficult for publishers to contact them. They absolutely stay aloof and above it all. They can do whatever they want, whenever they want and however they want.

Your average run of the mill amateur blogger is not your web savvy or professional publisher you could find here, go to any Adsense forum and you'll see the signal to noise ratio is unproductive, I could imagine Google being inundated with nonsense from people who won't invest 2 min to read instructions and guidelines, or even have minimum ethical sense, and almost think the program is not worth the trouble.

@Devoo
Everyone looks to have the Adsense expertise here.
The numbers I shared are what they are.
They are geographies and very specific niches where cross a dozen of websites the page CTR is high for reasons I can explain but don t whish to share.
And at the end I don t care.

Yesterday was a good day and the impact of the ads format changes is positive.

@Koan
Don t follow the guidelines for amateurs this is a bureaucratic approach. Follow performance within Google unsaid rules. Never performed in listening to any forum.

By far the lowest CTR and ROM in my 9 years in the program. Very frustrating

If I were Google, I wouldn’t want to talk to some of those yahoos in the help forums, either.

I'm checking out the Adsense ad review center now and there are a lot of ads which look completely blank. Is this normal?

Adsense reporting seems to be lagging today. [Industry: Arts/Literature]

I think they are under heavy attack lately, I even seen people mentioning they are part of rings that click on ads just to hurt adsense and lock accounts. In addition to that, Adsense lately slows down my site from 0.2 seconds to ~4-5 seconds. I imagine it is easy to DDOS / slow down the ad partners network and slow by that, down publishes site, considering speed is a ranking factor.

Anyone else noticed the ads are much slower lately ? This is an important factor IMHO.

At this point I only keep the ads because I hope it will recover, but hardly earn anything.

This is the only "communication" I get from Google, my actual numbers:
January report: your revenue dropped by 35%. Let's improve it.
December report: your revenue dropped by 14%. Let's improve it.
November report: your revenue dropped by 13%. Let's improve it.
October report: your revenue dropped by 22%. Let's improve it.

I am a publisher for around 15 years and it is my full time job, 16-19 hours a day, I am positive I did everything possible to recover.
I literally hate them now; it is a pain to watch the AdSense advice and tips videos posted by young Google employees on YouTube, these guys were 5-6 years old when I was in the AdSense business, now they get to tell what is right and wrong, what is fraud or legit click.

The contents in error reporting and the help documents are a joke, I am sick of the superiority attitude and lack of communication. Google doesn't deserve it's publishers.

// Sorry for the rant but I had enough :(

Oh, I always love those updates.

Step One: New core update that absolutely wrecks your website
Step Two: Monthly Report: Your traffic/revenue fell by X%!

Thanks, Google, I hadn't noticed!

Traffic and number of clicks are good for me, however, the CPC seems to be dropping each day in March...so far. [Industry: Arts/Literature]

Analytics is showing double the number of clicks as in Adsense. EPC and CTR are down, which I assume is the result of Adwords trying to protect advertisers from large amounts of invalid clicks. My earnings are just collateral damage. Add in the coronavirus, crashing stock market, climate change, the U.S. election and heaven knows what else.

Stats have to be stuck right now. I mean, I know my traffic is horrendous atm, but I'm approaching a 0% CTR today. Yesterday was horrendous as well, though, so...

I do think the coronavirus/election combo is likely affecting things, at least somewhat. It just feels like a very weird time. Uncharted territory.

I'm still dealing with Analytics showing too many clicks, as well. I checked everything I could, and mostly it just seems like it's counting extra clicks where there aren't any. I'm sure there's bot activity going on, but most of the "clicks" show Google search as their visitor origin, and otherwise everything looks normal. No weird domains or anything. Meanwhile, Statcounter, which I've never considered very accurate as far as counting clicks, shows daily numbers much more in line with Adsense itself. And Adsense...well, I certainly haven't seen any big spikes in clicks there...
