Discussion of AdSense Earnings for Month of September 2019

There is some technical issue I believe because my earnings have only gone up a small % since 9/10pm last night and the traffic has been steady. Analytics also not updated since that time. It is such a massive drop I had to come on here to see if anyone else has experienced the same. Near the end of month I expect it to be high earnings as ad houses push their budgets but it is the weekend I guess. I believe it might be a technical glitch and hope adsense sorts it out soon.

@delorean are the link units in question formatted to a specific size?

@nmbrsk @Nightmute thanks for the concern and infos guys. its ok now. I think at that time when I check my pages, adsense has lesser ads pool so some link units are not showing. Upon checking most of my pages today, they are all showing.

Today is horrible unless reporting is slow but it's more than halved compare to yesterday.

I'm the exact opposite, I'm £100-£150 in front of where I usually am this time of day.

Considering I have removed AdSense from all of my sites somehow I have accrued 167 PVs so far this month, one site has had 105 PVs yet in August it had, as should be, zero.

Half of them have been from the USA with the remainder UAE, Mexico, Iran, China ... Do I assume that some of these PVs are in a cache somewhere?

The site with 105 PVs has not had any ads since mid-March, 6 months ago.

I have a weird question/observation today. My earnings are (at the moment) 7 times what they normally are today. Traffic has not spiked... everything looks normal. I'm scared that:

1. This has to be a mistake.
2. Could it be some kind of hack or something going on I can't see?

I'm worried that this is very very bad. I've been with Adsense since 2002 and haven't seen earnings like this since 2010. Is there something I should be looking at to see if something is awry?

Thanks :-)

P.S. It's just too good to be true - there has to be a reason for this lol

Update: Just noticed my rpm has gone from low double digits (normally) to triple digits today. That can't be right.

Any unusual spikes that we see will be corrected by Adsense.

Frost_Angel, sit tight and see how things look tomorrow. Chances are Google will catch whatever it is and correct the numbers. If it continues for a couple of days, then contact them and let them know you're worried. You might also consider taking Adsense off your pages if things don't settle down. I would suggest removing the site from your approved sites list, but they are being picky about adding sites to that list, so I don't know how easy it would be to get the site back on without a review.

Very high RPM the last couple of days. Record earnings on some days, compared to previous years.

I see that my competitors also have a lot of blank ads. Exactly the same situation occurred at the beginning of 2017 (brand safety update). Some publishers had problems with blank ads and because of it others had much higher earnings.

U notice only 1 difference. In 2016 2017 2018 till december i had 15-20k pageviews, then it drop to 5-10k... Last 2 days and today my pageviews return from 5-10k to 15-20k.... Strange all 2019 i had low pageviews and sometime i had same users number with pageviews number.... It is impossible that user just click on 1 page....

Since last 2 days, adsense coverage has dropped to 50% from usual 95%+ coverage. Earnings took a hit and adsense dashboard is filled with crawler errors. Newer posts are not showing any ads. Ads.txt and robots.txt are fine. There are no changes from my side.

Just a quick update -- it looks like they adjusted things down for the day -- but still ended up as a 350% increase in earnings for the day even with the adjustment! Things totally settled down and are back to normal now. I assume another adjustment will come at the end of the month. It was exciting and scary -- but very short-lived.

It's really terrible in here, AdSense has gone to the dogs, it's is pity, everyday from one problem to the other, each time I make new post the are always no AD at the page, which usually affects my earnings @ the end of the day.

Some made measured of his pageviews dropping and suddenly increasing, it equally happened to me too, I usually have like 25k-30k pageviews, but of recent it drops to like 15-17pageviews per day.

Pageviews seem to be dropping drastically. My pageviews are down 19% in the past seven days. Now, my traffic has increased, and CPC has risen during this time. The only conclusion is that Google is showing fewer and fewer ads since they only count pageviews when a user views a page displaying their ads.

PSA:

Sites hosted on blogger.com with custom domains have hit a nasty bug where adsense coverage has dropped below 25%. This is for blogger.com only and today is the fourth day coverage has taken a hit.

Apparently due to a bug, adsense has stopped crawling blogger pages on custom domains, hence no ads are shown and low coverage.

Google has not resolved this issue after repeated posts about this on blogger forums by multiple users in last 4 days and haven't even bothered to drop a line of communication telling users about this issue.

@RedBar
[support.google.com ]

@RedBar Here is a quote from Google. The link is above.

"A page view is what Google counts in your reports every time a user views a page displaying Google ads. We will count one page view regardless of the number of ads displayed on that page.

For example, if you have a page displaying three ad units and it is viewed twice, you will generate two page views."
----
FYI, cached pages can show ads.

I recently started facing an issue with ads not appearing on pages have a query parameter added to the end of a URL. I have tried and detailed the whole issue and everything that I have tried till now here on the Google Adsense support thread [support.google.com], however, I haven't received any reply. This has never happened ever before.

Well, since this is an Adsense related thread and I couldn't get an answer anywhere, I decided to post it here among the experts.

Link Units

I have checked several sites that use the link unit including my own and they are only showing results from the domain. No ads. Is anyone seeing this? Has the link unit been killed or is this a glitch.
