Discussion of AdSense Earnings for Month of September 2019

There is some technical issue I believe because my earnings have only gone up a small % since 9/10pm last night and the traffic has been steady. Analytics also not updated since that time. It is such a massive drop I had to come on here to see if anyone else has experienced the same. Near the end of month I expect it to be high earnings as ad houses push their budgets but it is the weekend I guess. I believe it might be a technical glitch and hope adsense sorts it out soon.

@ember

You misunderstood me:
The page is doing now better because of it s simplicity and quality.
My trafic is purely natural. Zero external links like the majority of my sites (the SEO legend of having good quality links to be ranked well is a legend).
My average CTR is 9 % for years now, RPM always been 2 digits middle range for this website.

This September needs to pick up fast :(
Very bad revenue and some SERP movements.

Serp movements are the publisher enemy number 1
Not Adsense

Top banner ad, 300 x 600 ad and matched content are not showing on many pages of my site. No, I am not using Ad Balance.

Links max 3 combined with auto ads (only display anchor vignette) work best for me.

My responsive ads are not only blank spaces like 100px under a 300x250 pixels... Now they are aligned top left so there's also a white space at the right of the banners :-(

Adsense doesn't give a - you know - about user experience.

Overall, the past three weeks (and especially the first week of September) have been the worst for me in the past 2 & 1/2 years or so. Making it worse is that this is also happening at the same time that the site's ranking for a significant related Google search term has shown significant improvement.

New low for RPM yesterday. (RPM has been slowly sliding down for the past couple of months.)

Interestingly, Ezoic's Ad Revenue Index doesn't show anything particular for the second half of August - and a climb is visible for early September. I hope it's OK to add a link for those who don't know it: [adrevenueindex.ezoic.com...]

Runfun. I am experiencing the same thing. My Google tesponsive ad on the right rail has always been centered until a couple days ago. Now the ad is aligned left. It appears that Google is ignoring CSS and doing whatever they choose to do. Something has seriously gone wrong with AdSense over the past week. Today I am removing the top banner ad as nine times out of ten, there is just a large blank space showing where the ad should be. Mind you, my CSS sets the height at 90px, but the blank space shown is much taller than 90px, again ignoring the CSS.

Hello-

my CSS sets the height at 90px, but the blank space shown is much taller than 90px, again ignoring the CSS.

If you inspect your HTML code, once the page is rendered, you will see that Adsense added "style:height:auto!important;", to all the parents, (and parents of parents, etc...) of the container of the ad. This is the reason it overwrites any CSS.

Azlinda, thanks for sharing so I'm not the only one with those problems. 90px isn't much these days, I had 728x90 banners before but 970x250 are performing better. Okay it's maybe large but with screens with more and more pixels it's becoming normal and accepted. I'm curious what your niche is because I believe you could do more with Ad Manager.

Thank you for explaining that, JorgeV. I suppose if we deleted the "style:height:auto!important" from their code, we would be breaking Google's rules, right?

I made the mistake of checking last year's August and comparing it to this years:

70% INCREASE in number of clicks.

24% DECREASE in revenue.

August Month was great for me. I made more than 17000$ and over 0.10$ CPC. Looking forward in this month too.

Did you try data-full-width-responsive="false" for this css issue?

This month is slow, though it might pick up later. August was looking terrible in the first and second week as well, but things improved in the third and last week.

@yaashul, if you are asking me about the CSS issue, no, I didn't try "false." I'm afraid to change any of Google's code in the event of repercussions from them.

0.10$ CPC is OK, but not great. How many millions of page views are you getting to generate $17,000? It has to be close to 10,000,000.

New record low month with RPM dropping to half of what it was in June of this year. Lowest RPM for the entire life of the account.

And you might be getting a decent number of clicks as well to make up for low CPC.

Has anyone else experienced any unusual Adsense reporting? Yesterday my pageviews were unusually low, but my clicks were high. Today, the same thing is occurring.
