Well, today is not good. January may start off with my lowest earnings in years. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Still getting the same amount of traffic and clicks this new year, but CPC is very, very low, what a great way to start the year, is this normal at the start of every year?

@allhearts, Unfortunately yes. Advertisers usually spend all their money trying to get Christmas sales, and once the holidays are over, things get very quiet.

ad placements that were averaging me over $0.50 per click over the last year are so far pulling in under $0.10 this year, this really hurts.

It does hurt. Last January was absolutely terrible. And February was no better. I didn't see my earnings improve until March. Let's hope things are better this year.

January has started off absolutely dismally. Today is looking dreadful as well. Let's hope things start to improve.

what actually helped me at this time last year was replacing poor performing ads with link units on high traffic areas, they didn't pay much but I got double the clicks which helped to compensate.

Thanks, that's good advice. Hopefully your January last year wasn't as bad as mine.

My problem isn't a lack of clicks. It's that the ads just don't pay very well at this time of year. Hundreds of clicks per day, plus all the CPM ads that pay just for displaying on the pages, amount to peanuts.

I hear and feel your pain trust me.
I added a few link units this morning and it isn't having much effect for what it's worth, I also don't want to cram a lot of ads into the sites. I know I have to give it some time, but it's looking pretty dreadful so far this year unfortunately.

My traffic is still down considerably due to the holidays, so I can't expect to earn a lot just yet. I won't see a significant traffic increase until next week. What's worrying me, though, is that my traffic is actually higher now than it was a year ago at this time, and yet so far, January's earnings are lower than last year. So, last January was terrible, but this year is starting out even worse. All of my additional traffic is proving to be worthless.

Looking better at my numbers I am in the same boat, January of last year started off better then this one, even though my traffic is also up, lets just keep our heads up and hope that it can only get better from here.

Well, as the second day of January draws closer to an end, earnings are actually turning out better than expected, and I'm now ahead of the game over last January. Maybe there is hope after all.

Same here. This January, while seeing the usual drop in earnings and RPM, is much better overall than this time last year. I'll take any sort of new year bump at this point.
