November 2018 was great, now let's see how December 2018 will treat us.

I’m not seeing ad serving issues either. Revenue started to move again. But, it hasn’t caught up with the down time yet.

Strange, AdSense shows 100% coverage for my ads today, yet most of my 300x250 units are coming up blank.

Must just be me not seeing them because my Publisher report in Google Analytics is updating with AdSense earnings as usual.

@Cralamarre
Is anyone else seeing ads not appearing on their pages? I'm seeing a lot of blank spaces where there should be ads on my site. Not sure why.

Strange, start from 1st december my adsense shows under 90% coverage (<90%) but there is no blank ads. CTR is also dropped

I cleared my browser cache, and now the ads on my site have re-appeared. Problem solved, although I've never had to do that before.

AdSense report also looks to be fully updated now.

That's interesting, 32 million mobile users in the UK without data plus other mobile operators around the world:

Well after yesterday's little panic attack with reporting issues, it ended up being my best AdSense day so far this month, and more in line with what I would expect to be earning at this time of year.

Glad it worked out for you @Cralamarre, yesterday was one of my lowest earning days in the last 2 Months, and December as a whole is looking pretty darn bad.

Sorry to hear that, @allhearts. I was hoping others ended up having a good day yesterday as well.

I love it!
I just got my Adsense "Monthly Report" email and as usual the numbers reported are completely wrong. They get top marks for consistency, every month since they started spamming me with these emails the figures reported are always wrong. I guess they are too busy trying to keep real time account reporting up and running so they don't have time to focus on monthly reports.

@NickMNS,
Which numbers are wrong? I've noticed that the Monthly Report always shows my earnings in US dollars, but since I'm in Canada, I'm paid in Canadian dollars. So the Monthly Report earnings always look wrong.

@Cralamarre same here, I am Canadian but regardless my account is in CAD so the email should report figures in CAD. Given that there is no way to know what fx-rates are used for the conversions there is also no-way to know whether the figures are accurate.

Impressions and mobile% appear to be correct but CTR is understated in the email.

To be fair, the errors are not as egregiousness as they were when they first started with these emails. Values that are a wrong are wrong, whether off by a little or a lot doesn't make them less wrong.

@NickMNS,
My CTR is listed at only 0.21% in the Monthly Report, but I think that's on a per-ad basis, whereas my Page CTR as shown on the AdSense website is around 2%.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, Google's currency conversion rate fluctuates daily based on the previous day's rate. So if an advertiser buys ad space on your site today in US dollars, then your earnings, in Canadian dollars, will be based on the conversion rate from yesterday.

Well, AdSense sucks again today. So much for the big pre-Christmas earnings.

I dont know guys. Ive heard that earnings in december are the best during a year.. And usually it is but this year is a real sh#....

1st and 2nd December were great. Really good CTR, CPC, RPM everything was superb!
But since 3rd December everything started to go down.. Today especially..

I hope that our earnings will jump in LAST TWO weeks of the month...

"Monthly report: your revenue grew by 45%. Great progress!". I love the season, and this year's is a particularly good one. 9 out of my top 10 all-time best earning days are from the past few weeks. That's due to better RPMs because traffic-wise it's 9/10 for 2017 in the list of all-time highest pageview days. A good reminder for the coming year... more traffic! "Would that it were so simple."

@Dmajer, me too, this december is very bad in 2018 for me.
1 and 2 december great but not for 3-now , how about your ads coverage? usually i got 92-94% but 3rd december until now got 88-89%, and ctr is also dropped

This totally depends on your niche. December has always been my worst month with AdSense since 2003.

What I have never seen before is that after 6 days I have had no tablet earnings and desktop earnings are only 25% of mobile ... granted my earnings are so low now that they can't even buy me a beer a day yet it is obviously noticeable.

My sites are very niche-specific, the other day I had a visitor browse through just over 100+ pages and, supposedly clicked on 3 ads, yet not one was reported by AdSense ... ok, they were from Iran, nothing to do with politics was it?

Looking back at the stats for my golden years (2011 and 2012), December was always the best Adsense month of the year. December 2012 was my best ever month. 2013 was when things started to go downhill and although earnings were still acceptable, December wasn't the best month of the year. December 2013 earnings were 47.93% down on December 2012. 2014 was when the rot really started to set in and by the end of the year my December 2014 earnings were 84.91% down on December 2013. I suffered massive falls in earnings in a very short space of time.

I still don't fully understand what happened, but let it be a warning that your Adsense earnings can be turned off like a tap. This was around the time I dumped Adsense (something I would never have dreamed of doing just two years previously) and started to concentrate on hotel affiliates. My main niche is travel and this seemed like a good fit. For the first few months hotel affiliate earnings were fantastic and I earned far more than I ever did with Adsense, but that too went very quiet all of a sudden. At first, six or seven bookings in one day wasn't unusual, but nowadays six or seven bookings a month is about average. Again, I don't know why exactly, but I suspect that the hotel booking company started to resent the money being paid out to affiliates and changed the cookie session duration (among other things). It's now back to Adsense and even though earnings are better than the all-time lows, they are nowhere near the all-time highs and never will be again.

Around 10 years ago I took a very casual, quick look at stock photography. I uploaded just 5 photos to one agency, but got 40 sales fairly quickly. In the last month I thought I would give it another try and this time I applied a lot more effort. I have uploaded around 100 photos, this time to three agencies, and the quality is much better than before. Three sales so far for just 25 cents each. One agency I am with adds almost 2 million photos every week, and that's just one agency of many. Not only are there millions of photos being uploaded, but the quality is very good. Looking through the stock photo forums is just like this forum. People who have been in the game for a while constantly moan how bad things have become and how their work is being given away so cheaply. Most of my Adsense clicks these days are for a couple of pence and, in many cases, zero pence.

Making money on the Internet is tough these days because everything is so oversaturated. No one wants a regular 9-5 job these days (I can't blame them) and wants to make a living on-line working from home. There are a handful of YouTube creators coining it in making millions of dollars each year, but it's a different story for the vast majority of YouTubers. The on-line world has changed beyond recognition in the last decade. My expectations are now virtually zero. Never have I believed I would ever make a living from the 'net, but at one time I had hopes of making a relatively useful third income. The reality now is that I might make a little pocket change every few months. I'm not saying that it isn't possible, but compared to a few years ago it is now very difficult.

@allhearts,
I'm starting to think that half of Canadians earn their living online, either with a website or on YouTube.

My friends and family are always upset with me because I'm the only one hoping the Canadian dollar keeps dropping.

Lol @Cralamarre, I by no means make a living online, but adsense does help, I am on permanent disability and don't work.

@Cralamarre

I think you're in Canada, do you mind saying how many "page views" your site(s) average per day?
