You'll get a lot of conspiracy theories with a question like this but my observations almost always indicate that Google is rolling out new features when this happens.
I received a thousand clicks to an ad unit that was completely removed from the page.
That could be a cached page or catch-up. It's hard for a bot to attack something that doesn't exist but not difficult to copy someone's page and post the copy on your own site. Heck, if that's the case, you could be getting clicks on that unit forever.
Did someone mention that the two are connected? And can you not see that something rolled out yesterday?
No, I see no "rollouts" from yesterday. But I don't have the same interface that you do.
Nor do I see any major AdWords changes, which would be far more likely to affect AdSense than Analytics would.
I have gone from an income I can live off, to one that is a hobby and nothing more.
Evidence seems to suggest things haven't been better.
It would be nice to read the experience of those still doing well. Have they had to adjust their settings, ad placement etc?
Maybe they are "trying" to get us to quit adsense?I've already taken it off two sites.
