If you're looking for something that comes a bit closer to real-time information, try creating a custom report for Adsense in Google Analytics. I'm finding things in my Analytics reports (relative to Adsense) are way ahead time-wise. Also, I can actually tell, when a click is gonna get taken back because it won't register in Analytics even when it's showing up in Adsense. Almost without fail, Analytics has the real numbers while Adsense is bouncing up and down trying to catch up, sometimes an hour or more behind. I'm wondering if eventually Google intends to put Adsense reporting into GA altogether. Wouldn't surprise me but, then again, not everyone uses Analytics.

Is it frozen? I see page views but the earnings are way way way down. I am currently at 20% of what it used to be (the new normal is 40% now). If not, it will be the new low in my history.

CTR never recovered as expected. This morning I get "Your earnings were 43% below our forecast" No kidding I would have never known. Thanks G.

Yep. I also never recovered. I will keep this business model but will switch to other ones. Adsense is not good anymore.

Mine finally came back alive yesterday.. posted $234 in revenue yesterday, and today shaping up to be very near that.

Let's see how long it stays this high.. average is $172/day from last month.

Clicks dropped to record lows after about 1pm Eastern Time today. Was going gangbusters until then and then everything just went dead. Best traffic day of the year. Very busy this afternoon. Puzzling.

I'm happy. Just got inside my time machine and went a few years back when GAdsense worked better, I'm writing from the past.

Things have been good this month "so far", stable average earnings, the average of the good days (still not the awesome days) but I'm happy. I've been off because I finally took some vacations and by coincidence I could even think checking the stats is what makes them ugly, not checking and oh surprise. Honestly can't really believe the change. What did I do? nothing except the same: keep posting useful and original content.

Insert big question mark here because for a while and I must say a long time: some forum members have shown the same patterns I see on my earnings but not this time. Not this time. I hope things get better for everyone.

Same here... I got a huge spike in CPC/CTR and had my best day EVERY yesterday, just north of $260 in revenue.

Past 4 days have been $240+ and today lookin' good so far.
Will be sending my marketing guy a bonus check if numbers continue to end in another record month for me.. assuming G doesn't take another 18% off my estimated earnings again -_-

It's been a good month, yesterday was the highest day of the year, reaching decent earnings at the middle of the morning, not even noon and I was happy. Who know how long is this going to last, I continue posting new fresh and original stuff.

"The silence of this forum" is more like it. Hardly any movement here in the last week at all. Like you said, it could bode good or bad. For my part, I've been watching the new text-ad formats, trying to figure out how that's affecting the bottom line. Not sure I like the results at the moment but who knows what a little tweaking could accomplish. G is giving people plenty to think about lately and they're not explaining themselves or the many changes they're introducing either (as usual). Just do it to me and leave me to figure out what happened after the fact. Very un-cool in my book even if changes are for the better. Seems like there would be some buzz here regarding all the changes to ad formats lately but the conversation on the subject is pedestrian at best. Not sure if this means only certain people are seeing them or if no one cares or if everyone's scrambling to make adjustment or everyone has just left the Adsense program. Feel like I'm having my own private hallucination at the moment.

The message to the mom and pop and one man/woman website show is pretty clear for many of us. The party, if not over, is a far cry from what it used to be. There are a few here that are still doing well, but most are toast.

Ditto here. Started yesterday afternoon and continues through this evening. And G is now taking away my 4 cent clicks at a record pace. Never seen it like this. Not sure why they're taking away revenue because there's nothing on my sites that is deceptive or would cause accidental clicks (except absent-minded surfers). Can't imagine that many people all clicking on an ad and then immediately clicking the back button.

Actually working to diversify my content portfolio further. Not much to report as it has been standard for me. So I guess I am the fine crowd.

Pageviews are going downtrend but I think that's seasonal with my niches, as the majority of the schools are starting.

RPM appears to be trending higher, as the same ads budget going into less pageviews as a whole across all publishers of my niche. So with less pageview and higher RPM, my earning actually balanced out while being slightly lower.

Working for more contents, sites, across additional topics. My topics go in and out of favor (mostly out mind you), not because of google, but because of the general public. A part of my routine is to listen and observe - what people want and need. All I want is a slice of the popularity pie and I am good.

Expecting an amazing christmas and winter break, as hopefully advertisers pump more ads dollars while my sites reach further maturities. Next two months will be nonstop crunching for me and hope for a good winter harvest.

I do expect october and november to be slower than my summer break months, but have to work through it. It's business. It's not fun to work harder for less money. But it is what it is. Business.

Tighten my belt and save up with december earning, and brace for the slowest months from jan-june.

One site, the company I work for is having an incredible month. My other personal site, I am taking all the ads off tomorrow. Not sure what happened because traffic is steady and in a non-seasonal industry. Very competitive Adwords CPC prices, but the CPC I am earning just keeps going down and down. Something's not right and I'll go back to selling direct ads than let Google take advantage of me.

Just here to mention stats seems stuck to me right now today.

I'm just implementing a new program to replace Adsense in some instances. At the very least it's a plan B.

I'm also just about to wipe Adsense off a number of sites completely along with the "closed for business" signs. I'm simply shutting down and closing out some sites. When they amount to a cash parking situation? I need to be real about my time vs. future prospects.

Essentially the downgrade in earnings this month, along with the past month or more has created change. Perhaps not a bad thing. I am deciding to terminate some websites in an attempt to possible somehow, someway, change my current Adsense earnings. I mean who the hell knows? Smart pricing? Some sites aren't as good as others of course. At this point, I'm desperate enough.

I'm glad I decided to build out my own advertising program a couple of years ago. I've left Adsense in some less important positions I couldn't sell, and watched those steadily decline over the last two years. now I may just remove them completely and sell them as cheap up sells to existing advertisers. I'm doing well without Adsense.

There was a time when I knew small business owners and individuals that made enough to pay their rent or better with Adsense. Just as those same people have been squeezed out of the SERPs, they also have been squeezed out of Adsense.

I'm noticing today that a significant bump in traffic isn't resulting in pay dirt. I do recall others mentioning spikes in traffic and that clicks don't seem to correlate to the traffic volumes. Can anyone verify click dumps in the day or days following? Tomorrow should be even higher traffic levels and I've added a couple new units which I could understand aren't really registering just yet. I may scream if my income doesn't increase with this traffic. It didn't with a site a few months ago, but I'm hoping that was an exception, not the rule.

I'm one that has noticed this but, I'm talking about increases in organic search traffic to an established site, not traffic to a new site or other kinds of traffic from new sources. Not sure about your exact situation but the source of the traffic (as relates to the quality of it) is obviously gonna factor in. Also, if the site or ad slots are new, as you know, it could take awhile for the the right ads to start showing up. I'm noticing drastic swings in CTR and CPC through ever increasing traffic volumes. CPC is a bit more explainable given the fluctuations in the ad market. The ad market is also probably somewhat in control of CTR as well. Two things I can put a bit of a finger on are 1. Single advertisers dominating the airwaves when no one wants to click on their ads and 2. A complete disconnect at times with the ads being served as related to the content on my pages. And both can happen at the same time.

Also, I'll keep saying this even though most here are mute on the subject. The new text-ad formats Google is using are creating a completely different environment for surfers. Ads look more like ads (or maybe less depending on how you use them).

Example (728x90 leaderboard): Title looks like a header now (big text, title not underlined). If you're not watching how these units look in different browsers, they could be having a very unwanted effect on your layout and overall strategy.

No, traffic and clicks don't correlate. What I do see is nice income with Google bothers to have good targeting (something that seems rare these days).

I agree that ad market or the buyers affect the CTR big time, especially for my entertainment niche. If there's a sale, or new movies coming out, I will have higher earnings, higher CTR.

Traffic is more or less a constant factor. During high season, higher traffic leads to much higher earning, lower traffic leads to "high" earning. During ad market's low season, higher traffic leads to medicore earning, and lower traffic leads to dismal earning.

My strategy is to boost my traffic no matter what happens, so that I can ride high during great ad season, and survive OK during the slow season.

Please define "the stats" i.e. what stats specifically? Clicks? Pageviews? Ad views? Pamela Anderson's bra size?

If everything but clicks is moving then stuck might not be the right word. Something isn't stuck just because it's not changing. Clicks are not reported in real-time so, by definition, they're always delayed.

Having said that, I almost always feel stuck with the stats I have to work with.

I think that what jmorgan meant is that Page views and clicks are not moving at all for two hours at least. That's what I'm noticing also.
