YSM bad traffic problem

I may be doing something wrong, but the traffic I get is not worth the $

Hello,

well I wanted to test out Yahoo and compare it with Google's adsense. Maybe i did something wrong (i hope so), but the traffic i was getting was bs. I used statcounter to count the visitors and see where they're coming from...

The numbers didn't match what yahoo was showing (they do with google). The numbers were like ... 10 clicks on yahoo ... 4-5 impressions on statcounter... and those that did count, were coming from weird websites that looked like domain parking?

I don't have a big budget to compare hundreds of clicks, but for the same money compared to AdSense, YSM seemed a disaster for me.

Is the traffic really that bad with YSM or am i doing something wrong?
I ran the campaign by only selecting the search ads, not content.

I am thankful for any answers, tips, or links to posts or guides about how to get better results with YSM!

sample size is not small.
you can only judge a network after testing thousands of clicks

To answer your question, yes, the traffic can be that bad with YSM. You can try and block those domains in your account (there is a 250 limit). If it's just a few domains sending this traffic, it might fix the problem. Otherwise, you're just going to have to lower your bids to a profitable level or advertise somewhere.

adsense and yahoo ? Yahoo what? yahoo content or Yahoo search? You need at least a couple thousand impressions on an ad group to make decisions. Also, you are talking about ctr, and your opinion on what these domains are. Are you into branding? If you are not trying to build a brand, forget about who the sites are and start tracking what domain is generating profitable traffic for you. And again, to have that analysis, you do need to spend some money. Keep your CPC low, and set an account budget. Also, make sure you have neg KWs populated and your ad copy solid.
