I have Widet & Widget in my account yet with widet nobody else is bidding on it - with widget, 10 people are bidding on it. With widet my bid is 0.05 with widget it's 0.50.
When somebody actually searches for widet, it shows my Widget ad and charges me 0.50 for the click - EVEN THOUGH they actually did an exact match to a cheaper keyword in my account.
This simply isn't right at all. If somebody types in Widet then my listing should be the only sponsored listing shown - and - I should only be charged 0.05 for it - NOT 0.50.
I know Yahoo suck big time compared to the big boys Google, and charging me over the odds isn't going to help matters.
My widet keyword isnt getting any clicks at all as it's automatically 'including widget' - Well I'm sorry, Yahoo isn't just including it - they are replacing it!
A few years back, I had one campaign of misspellings that had an absurdly low CPA since there was little to no competition. Then, they started matching to the proper spelling and that was all done.
As for misspellings....they include common misspellings. Well what are the common misspellings and does it include all the misspllings that I want to include? The problem I have with automatically including words is that I cannot tell what forms of those words are included and maybe I don't want all those to be included.
I currently believe that this is their greatest drawback.
In addition, managing a larger amount of keywords without a a desktop app would be a pain.
simple. unlike Google, they do not force you to buy the hundreds of different variations of the same KW. if you do advanced match, thy will show the KW to misspelled searches as well. I like it!
Well, it certainly levels the playing field. But, for those with sophisticated keyword generation methods... you shouldn't be looking for a level playing field, you should enjoy being several steps ahead.
