I woke up this morning to find an e-mail from Yahoo UK telling me my account is off-line.

I immediately went to my account to discover that I am -9.50 pounds.
Yes, that's minus.

As my spend is under 1 pound per day and I had 17 pounds in the account just 2 days ago that is really strange.

I tried finding more information through the reporting system but they are always so far behind they are virtually useless. All I can find out is that from June 28 to July 2 I spent under 3 pounds.
This is obviously an error or some kind of click attack however I now sit here with my account off-line. I have written support and am awaiting an answer.

In the meantime I guess I'll open GOOGLE Analytics to see what happened at Yahoo :-)

<edit> why can't FireFox display the pound symbol?

A similar thing happened to one of the accounts that I manage. I had an email through saying that the credit card had been declined. In the title of the email it said that it was a 'Non-Stop Acct' - it isn't, it has a daily budget.

Then a few minutes later I had another email saying that the credit card had been charged in the proper manner.

I then logged into the account and saw that there was a negative balance! This set alarm bells ringing as either they take more money or the listings go offline.

I phoned them up and was told that there was a technical problem last night which resulted in Yahoo taking a click charge equivalent to 60% of the month's whole budget! They are hoping that they will be able to sort this out today and refund the money to the Account Balance (and not back to the credit card).

During all of this my ads have remained online.

Your ads are still on-line because you have auto charge.

I use pre-pay so they killed my ads.

If they know there is a problem how difficult would it be to send an e-mail to those affected?
