I just received notification that effective Jan. 19 that some UK bid terms will have a minimum bid of £0.05.

According to the notice some terms will have a minimum bid of £0.05 while others will remain at £0.10.

I have heard that there will be 150k terms that will remain at a minimum bid of 10p, like finance terms.

Also received notice that NL will change to a range of Euros 0.05 to 0.15, also on Jan. 19.

I couldn't reduce my CPC on NL even if I wanted to.

The volumes are so low I can't make the minimum of Euros 25 now.

got the same email for France.

I wonder if this will happen in the US Market as well.

With the rising cost in Google, this would be a good way for Yahoo to lure some advertising budgets away from google and into their pockets.

Does anybody know if this applies for other countries? Germany, Austria, Sweden, etc?

Germany, Austria, Switzerland: "Some" Bids from 5 Cent. Other remains from 15 Cent minimum.
Austria and Switzerland: Monthly min. turnover only 10 Euro.

About time Uk bids went down to 5p. As an affiliate, I have found my Yahoo Uk account to expensive to use and have only used my US account. At 10p the minimum bid in the Uk has been (at current exchange rates) almost double the minimum bid of 10c on the US account so Yahoo Uk have lost out on any spending from me so far.

Than what to say about Europe, where 15 euro cents was very much ... almost 20 US cents ..

Has anyone seen a 5c (5p) min bids yet? I searched, but wasn't able to find any...

I have over 1000 keywords and can not find even one keyword with min bid €0.05.
I just tried to create a new campaign with dummy keywords like fdsafdsafdsafdsafdsa.
Even these keywords have min bid €0.15.
Maybe the traffic for fdsafdsafdsafdsafdsa is too high :)

I am curious what their reps are going to say... It seems today I will not be able to contact mine...
Yahoo is doing its best to ruin a good thing maybe...

Of course, Yahoo wouldn't be yahoo if an announced feature would work smooth and in time...

Check your current ave CPC, if you have a lot of unique terms then you may see that you are getting 5p clicks, but the system has not caught up yet.

We have definitely had 5p clicks without needing to change bids, so it looks as though much less work is required than we though to see immediate benefit.

So rather than doing away with the minimum bid entirely, like Google (sort of) did, they instead follow Miva and give selected keywords a lower minimum bid. Yahoo must really have hit rock bottom if they think copying Miva's idea is the best way to go.

Is there a support group for has-been search engines? If there were, it might look something like this:

According to an e-mail I just received from Yahoo UK the CPC will show in a new column to the right of the keyword.

I just checked all of mine and not one is indicated at .05.

It's working now.
min bid is now 0.05.

Yes I can now see lots of minium bids for 5p. I expected it to take a day or two for YSM to implement this.
