Is it being shut down - or just moved to a yahoo URL?

You can get to it through this page:

[searchmarketing.yahoo.com...]

Spoke to Yahoo! yesterday. It's going away, and there's no replacement other than a segemented blue line which indicates "searched a lot" vs. "searched not so much". They are pulling qualitative data off the market, which is incredible.

oooooooh... that's gonna hurt...

I suspect it may hurt them more than us in the long term - but maybe they don't have anyone thinking that deep right now. It's Christmas after all :)

Oh that's no good!

Not very charitable of Yahoo! and I haven't even received my e-Christmas card from them yet!

That's horrible, that it'll be going away. It's been so closely identified with their branding for so long, and even with the "old" name it still manages to keep Yahoo in remembrance whenever using it.

I wish at the very least that they'd charge a fee for using it; all they're doing is giving competitors they gain nothing from an open invitation to do price gouging and promote their competitors if they choose to.

Not a good PR move, IMHO.
