Its their own fault. I'm in austalia, got sites that combined get 4 million page views from the US alone per month, yes I don;t qualify for a YPN account.
Should be no problem at all for Yahoo to prevent their adds showing if the visitor is outside the US.
Its their own fault, for being so slow.
1. Their DTC has been more or less the same since launch, when it was GoTo!
2. There are a large number of dubious search partners that don't get kicked off the program.
3. YPN is US only, they are so far behind AdSense.
I could go on and on...
I just hope that things will improve with the introduction of the new Panama interface.
looking better (titles run together OR cut off)
need much better targeting
need to show ads instead of blank spots on valuable, high-traffic pages
etc... they DO need s lot of help before that goes anywhere.
Don't you think that if there was a bunch of money waiting for them if they went international they would do it? Of course they would. Think logically people.
I agree they need to change things up for both search and PPC. If the ROI isn't there customers will leave. I'm trying one last thing with my clients Yahoo PPC accounts and if this doesn't increase conversions, we're out and spending the money somewhere else. (apparently I'm not alone here.)
Oh and the class action suit probably didn't help earnings.
yahoo..US gets tons of Indian traffic.. which is good .. if i ran a biz in india.. but i don't and most of us don't.
yahoo .. needs to clean house .. clean bad partners.. use the convertion data they have to clean partners that produce crap traffic.. send only Geo targeted traffic to buyers.. and so on
if they got tons of India traffic.. they should build a processor that collects $ in India and make that traffic into gold.. but right now that traffic is a Bandwidth sucking crap clicks
thats my 2c
I advertise strictly with YSM because it's way cheaper and there's much less competition. I can also control my bids much better. I get much more bang for my buck than with Google adwords.
But then again... I advertise on very expensive terms.
On Yahoo! Search Marketing, I spend about 90 cents per click, and am usually on the front page of the search results. With Google Adwords, I have to spend about $4 per click to get on the front page.
