yahoo serps - temporary boost in traffic

Hi folks

I have been no.1 for a while for a competitive search term in yahoo but I receive little traffic from it (5-10 hits per day). Yesterday however, this keyword produced 200 hits! Today, it is back to normal and has produced only 5 hits today!

I have asked friends on different IPs and PCs to run the search and I am still position 1 for everyone who has tried!

Does anyone have any idea why there should have been a boost in traffic yesterday! If I didn't know better I would assume google had gone down!

Odd that it was confined to Yahoo. Something was driving that spike. Logically it would be from a Yahoo property, like news or entertainment. Does that keyword have some kind of relevance for a current event?

The search term is what you might search for if you wanted to replenish your printer fuel! (not sure if I am allowed to mention the keywords?). Seems like an odd keyword to be linked to news or entertainment. I can tell you the referer was yahoo with the parameter &p=k1+k2 so a standard search as far as I understand it!
