Yep - Twitter is all lit up with noise about Yahoo being down. No one can reach it and there's no official word from Yahoo, so far.

I've been monitoring their Twitter account @yahoo [twitter.com] but when I looked at their tweeting history, I didn't get the feeling that they take this social media channel as a serious way to engage their market. So I don't know if anythig will show up there or not.

Oh well, they're not the only ones who don't get it.

What, Microsoft bought Yahoo and shut it down? There's certainly no precedent for that. ;)

I was a member of AOL going way back. I remember annoucements about membership, especially when they passed the 1 million user mark.

Loved connecting to those modems. It was fun getting the latest / greatest /"fastest" modem.
