I noticed some fluctuations yesterday as well.

Seeing it today...

Yahoo is pretty consistent with their update timing - almost always one month appart.

The cycle used to be end of the month - except for the early September update.

I noticed a small increase in traffic too, but this may be some tweaking before the official update.

Definitely a shift in SERP's.

similar timing to the time before last, yep maybe a tweak before they announce the weather...

Keywords in URL is important, everyday more....
But it's not sufficient.
Internal links text is important as well..

saw a jump from #9 to #4 for one of my main key phrases. keeping my fingers crossed that they won't roll back and send my site back to their backside again for 2 years...

I knew it...I was just starting to come back after being down 30% for almost 3 months. The last 2 weeks have almost been normal then Saturday I'm back to -30% again.

which is why I NEVER... EVER depend on Yahoo! traffic. If it comes, it's bonus.

I had a closer look and it seems to me that results are not stable and probably yahoo is rotating results.

For example searching for a three-keyword phrase ( in my niche ) I found at the top (the first result! ) a spamming site having only 2-3 not so important incoming links... Just a "work in progress" spamming site.

Ditto for other sites in the first page: some of them are "work in progress" ...... spammers that are beginning their task.

Other sites are spamming mirror sites.

Only few sites I know are genuine good trusted sites.
Maybe Yahoo is mixing results...

Something is moving.

I don't think these results represent the new yahoo algo, because they risk to lose quality.
Probably they are testing and getting information to elaborate.

I agree angiolo, I am seeing some very spammy sites and one page landing pages at the top of the SERPs for some competitive terms..

Results are garbage for one client I track.

Not all the results are garbage, but Yahoo seems now the spammer's paradise for the long tail results.

yes. In the span on one week, I have been ranked at EVERY number on page #1! Talk about fluctuation!

I am seeing a 50% drop in Yahoo traffic since this last update on the 26th or 27th of Sept. What is going on?

This week, after bouncing at EVERY number on page #1, today Yahoo! kicked me back to page #3. I expected it I guess. I suppose the next thing will be that they kick me back to their backside for 2 years again. Traffic was good while it lasted. I've learnt never to depend on Yahoo! traffic. Google on its worst day still gives 10 times more traffic than Y!

With this update, Yahoo's SERPs started to refer to my Home Page with HTTPS on certan keywords (it has always been http before, and there are no links leading to my site with the https); on some other keywords the references to the same home page are correct (HTTP). This is causing different problems for me. Would anyone please suggest how I could contact Yahoo to ask them to correct this and revert their references to my site back to http. I'd appreciate it very much!
[I have also tried to redirect https to http in my htaccess file with no success.]
