How's your YPN CTR?

Comparing YPN to AdSense

I have a site where one section has current information and news on the topic and that information is spread over two pages. It provides a good opportunity to give YPN one page and AdSense the other and compare.

YPN is now showing some good ads for the audience, but the CTR is dismal. Over the last month or so, the YPN CTR has been about 1/4 that of the AdSense CTR. Either the performance is lousy as compared to AdSense or a lot of clicks aren't being recorded for some reason.

I have never had the performance with YPN as I have with other ads - my direct advertisers as well. I keep YPN in play and earn enough to keep them engaged - one never knows...

I decided this week to give YPN another shot and I'm using it to replace AdSense ads on pages which AdSense has paid nothing since the beginning of the Analytics integration 5 months ago. This might not be a good method for comparison, but anything from YPN is better than nothing from AdSense.

Besides, removing low-performing ads from AdSense seems to not only increase AdSense CPM, but overall AdSense revenue as well.

That's darn good. Month after month after month, my YPN CTR has never risen to 1/10 of my AdSense CTR. I have the "keep them engaged" philosophy, as well. One never knows.

personally, I don't hold much hope. It is been going downhill for almost two years now and seems to be getting worse, not better.
