Well, my little test seems to have failed even though I made more.
The amount of views I gave them were equal to what I gave Google. The page views were pretty much the same BUT the clicks were not.
YPN got only half as many clicks as Google and after doing math for half the night I deduced that I would have made only 57 CENTS more had it been the same amount of clicks.
There seems to be a lack of trust for YPN as compared to Google.
Not worth the work so I reloaded the Google pages...oh well..

Unless I misundestood what you said, how is this a failed test? People stayed on your site longer with YPN (less clicks) and you made almost the same amount of money? This opens up another opportunity for you to add something else (affiliate wise) and make more $$.
We would make lots more money if we got more clicks with YPN, but it seems the pay is almost the same for us. With less people leaving...more a win in our eyes :)
But here is the real issue...I spent months and months fretting, researching, optimizing pages, checking stats at all hours, doing tests like you, trying different ad placement to get better targeted ads.
Hours upon hours wasted!
Once I made the decision to Get Outta Dodge and Put The Ole Horse Out Of Its Misery...I spent my time making my 2 sites more Google friendly. My G traffic has increased 10 fold, which would never have happened had I kept being asorbed with Yahoo ads.
I too have keep my account open, BUT I'll not waste one more minute on Yahoo at this time. I'll bet when I visit this Y forum in the coming months, I'll read about the same old problems.
In the meantime I'll be writing more articles for directory submissions, building more quality ranked Link Backs and watching my 2 sites move up even higher in the google serps. It's going to be a good year in 08.
.57 ain't worth it, is it?
Good move Ann.

In any case, I am so disappointed (actually, disgusted would be closer) with G, that I've begun putting YPN ads on some formerly G pages. I've already seem a good deal of improvement, after about 2 weeks, but one thing I did notice is that it takes sometimes 10 days to 2 weeks for Yahoo to get the ad tageting right. So, I am expecting results to improve.
G is getting so bad that I'm considering dumping them altogether. 2008 will be full of changes for me.
I am just finishing up changing the pages of my main site to YPN. I just couldn't take the constant downhill drag, I felt like Google was aiming for zero earnings the way it kept falling.
After maintenance Saturday was the final blow, finished out the day at 12. and change. I hope Ypn makes it if not, then I am going to be looking for another ad company. Keeping adsense on my 2 smaller sites as they are doing fair and don't want to give up adsense altogether in case they start doing something better.
Good luck with yours,
Ann
