after a year of consistency

Over the past week, I have been getting less targetted and sometimes totally irrelevant ads showing up on my main YPN site. For about a year, it has been very consistent and relevant. Keep waiting for it to fix, as it does sometimes temporarily, but then reverts.

Anyone else notice this lately or have any info?

I see the same thing for about a month and a half, surprisingly earnings stay about the same.

I don't know why, but it feels like Yahoo totally neglected YPN. What has been done to it for the past year?

What was it originally, spring '06 when it was suppose to come out of Beta? Then changed to fall, then winter. Now what is it? Spring again, maybe summer?

I don't necessarily mind that it's still in beta. Just I want to show the ads to everyone and get rid of the silly geo-targetting.

I've only been in the program for a couple days now and I remember them saying that it'll take 48 hours for the ads to come on target. I do notice that during daytime hours that my ads are horribly off target. Even showing some url's I've blocked in there as well. At night however everything falls into place...we'll more or less on target.

I will need more time in this to get a bigger sample size to see if this is really a trend.

Anyone else notice something similar?

Relevency has dropped the day before Panama launched, and hasn't improved. We have several themed sites that showed relevant ads prior to Panama (for over a year) and now the CTR has dropped more than 50% due to poor quality ads.

The YPN relevancy is a disaster. I have a consumer electronics website and getting "automotive school phoenix" type of ads....

Looking back on our reports, we had several sites that went from a month-long 10% CTR to 3% CTR on the exact same date: 1/24/07 (and has stayed 3% ever since)

This must have been the day Yahoo flipped switch on something.

I decided to give them a try again after a year of not running YPN. Does it generally take 48 hours for their ads to get on target as someone said? At the moment, the ads are nowhere near the right ballpark.

I don't get it. Adsense seems to target immediately. Why the difference?
Does it help to choose a category on the control panel?

Category targeting helps a little, I'd say a 20% improvement.

Overall, Yahoo targets correctly about 40% for us, vs. 90% for Google. Our CTR for adsense is easily 3x higher than yahoo.
