Yahoo Agrees a Deal to Serve Google Search and Ads

Well, here you go, not entirely unexpected.

In October, the Company reached an agreement with Google that provides Yahoo with additional flexibility to choose among suppliers of search results and ads. Google's offerings complement the search services provided by Microsoft, which remains a strong partner, as well as Yahoo's own search technologies and ad products. This needs an anti-trust lawsuit. Yahoo should not be allowed to give Google this much control over Internet searches.

Really bad news for Bing, If Yahoo sells out to Google Bing should close doors and Google will be the only search engine on this planet.

Is there a way in Bing for us to prevent ads from displaying on Yahoo? Because Google is sending zombies from their paid ads, I definitely don't want up to 49% of my ads displaying on Yahoo to send the zombies too.

So Bing makes a bit less money. Google makes a bit more. I doubt MS will shut it down.

I wonder how good a deal Google offered. If Google and Bing both really want the share, Yahoo may have got a very good deal.

I would be really surprised if Bing were to close its doors. You have to remember that there is a revenue share going on there, and the more both yahoo and bing can earn, the less likely they are to want to terminate the deal.

However, there is the valid point about antitrust. I'm not sure where that would go - perhaps nowhere.

At the the moment, Yahoo holds the cards.

I still believe it may blend the results to its benefit, making it more of a meta engine.

In Europe it is impossible for a company with 70% market share to gain more, it is pure greed. And I don't talk about search but about every industry. But of course in the US they don't give a $+#k.

Try to grow your own food to survive, once they own it all it's game over. They are at the top of the food chain and they decide to send you some food (traffic) or not, it is completely their decision. Soon you will be able to do nothing to get some traffic at all. Webmaster forums will be useless since they will decide, not you.
