Yahoo Inc. won approval Tuesday night from local officials to build a massive, 3 million-square-foot office campus in the heart of Silicon Valley, an ambitious project envisioned in the midst of the company's ongoing turnaround effort.
The Santa Clara City Council voted 7-0 to approve the development plan for a sprawling Yahoo campus of thirteen six-story buildings resembling rival Google Inc.'s stately headquarters situated less than 10 miles away.
