Online XML Editor for User Generated Content?

I am creating a web application where users can upload XML files which are then put in a database and displayed as content later. Does anybody know a tool or set of scripts to edit a XML file preferably with PHP or JavaScript?

I basically only need the <elements> and <element name="attribute"> color-coded and run a check if it is valid XML before it is being put in the database.

Maybe the best to do it myself?

So you want something that enhances a <textarea> with colorization and validation for XML? I don't know any in-browser XML editors...

Here's one:

but they state explicitly that it only works in Mozilla

Here's a code highlighter I've used which does a nifty job:

it will colorize XML, but it's not an editor
