Hi, I created a sitemap.xml file using a free web service. I was wondering if I need to regularly update this file and submit it to Google. If yes, how do I update this file?

I think that when you update pages on your site you should also update the site map (if it lists when it was last updated on your site map). How this can be done depends on what technology you're using or what the free web service you use can do.
There are some posts already on this issue within different forums on webmasterworld.com that may be of use.
Try doing a search on Yahoo/MSN/Google. E.g. on Google try "site:webmasterworld.com site map update"

Welcome to the chirping crickets forum, er, XML Development forum.
I suspect that you may have better luck posting this to one of the many Google forums.
I, for one, have nary a clue to spare on the subject.
Sorry.

You can either use the third-party site to generate a new file, or you can open the existing sitemap.xml file in a text editor such as Notepad and edit it manually.
