BitPyLocker Ransomware Threatens to Expose Data If Ransom Unpaid

The BitPyLocker ransomware is taking a step up from simply encrypting a users data, and is threatening to expose a users data if no payment is forthcoming.
Some businesses are not paying up with a standard threat, so the people behind this are upping the ante.

"If you do not wish to negotiate with us. We will make your company's private papers and databases public. This's is not a joke!"

BitPyLocker’s ransom note doesn’t currently specify where or when the publication will happen, and it’s not yet known whether the group will even follow through.

That may not matter to some victims. The threat of sensitive data being published may be motivation enough, and this tactic will become far more common if it proves successful.
