Asus PCs malware poisoned software updates

A million or so Asus personal computers may have downloaded spyware from the computer maker's update servers and installed it, Kaspersky Lab claims.

Not specifically a "web site" security issue, but many of us use pcs to do the grunt work for content, coding, etc.

This kind of thing surely puts people off the brand. As TorontoBoy said, they should be more careful.

Worse, scares like this prompt too many users to disable updating and thus leave their systems more vulnerable in the future. Why? Most times they forget to periodically check to see if there are necessary updates!
