This is something beyond my understanding, but I post it here, in case some can figure it out :

Technical specifications for IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework that will help the digital advertising industry interpret and comply with EU rules on data protection and privacy - notably the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that comes into effect on May 25, 2018.

From what I understand, for those implementing the IAB's framework, instead of asking a given user to accept (or not) interest-based ads each time he visits a different site, the consent is granted (or not) once, and apply to all the other sites.

I guess that Google will come with something like that too, in the future.
