Adsense Earnings and Observations

Acompletely irrational and unwise decision to not allow it anymore

By removing the Adsense Earnings and Observations section you have destroyed the most interesting part of the Adsense forum. One of the most bizarre decisions. Like if you you were to cancel
'Google Updates and SERP Changes'

Return it as soon as possible and keep Adsense forum intersting and alive.

Thanks

- me too posts. People posting "me too" or other frivolous verbiage in those threads. So much so, that many years ago, we had to write a change into the software that allowed us to turn off post counting in those threads.
- nonsense posts by people coming in to spread fud, or just plain troll.
Several years ago, I had a guy from a major agency say they regularly used to come into those threads just to post false info to hurt competitors they knew read here.
- False info. Over the years, the number one complaint against WebmasterWorld was the amount of false information in those monthly threads. When we lost several core long-term senior members last year, they all mentioned "conspiracy theories" in those threads. [webmasterworld.com...]

As I said in the AdSense thread - we can talk about issues in threads, lets just not do the monthly chat threads. If there is something of value that has come up - start a thread. If there is something you see in another thread - then jump in there too.

Look, it is no secret we took it hard on the chin from Panda and Penguin. I've not been shy about sharing the figures: we went from 150k a day referrals from Google to next to nothing. We cant keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.

From a different perspective: I just found it boring and a bit whiny. g adsense---it what it is and all we an do is work with what we can get. :)

B*tchin' about it gets us nowhere.

@DolceVita

I fully agree with you.
The SEO discussions are not better in terms of quality level than Adsense.
The Adsense community has been a good thing to have and to rely on.
Haven t seen any fake news.
When you couple paranoia and arrogance you get a poor forum.
Good luck all

The sharing of false information, conspiratorial theories, and the spread of panic will certainly not be prevented by banning a certain subject that is at the same time the most read, the most interesting and the most visited.

As I said yesterday, as an old member of this forum, the topic 'Google Updates and SERP Changes - June 2022' is still where it was and that's great.

But then why was the non-reciprocal rule applied only to 'AdSense Earnings and Observations'?
If somewhere possible false information is pushed intentionally by individual members, then it is rather in 'Google Updates and SERP' than in 'AdSense Earnings and Observations'.

In the end, let's be democratic, make a poll, and let's see what others think. I am sure that less than 5% of members would be in favor of canceling one or both subjects in the forum.

@Brett_Tabke

Just to add, that in the subject you refer to:
[webmasterworld.com...]

old members complain about the moderation of the SEO Google SERP subforum, not the Adsense subforum, where this did not happen.

That's why I ask on behalf of many that, if you have already allowed 'Google Updates and SERP Changes', then please also allow 'AdSense Earnings and Observations''.

Thank you

I know I know - it's not perfect, but we are doing everything we can to try to raise the quality of posting. The only way to increase is to increase the quality of posting. We can't just keep doing Twitter chat that isn't on Twitter - we have to get back to Q & A and real content of interest to a broader audience of site owners.

Just this week there was a article came out that people were starting to find forums again - or for the first time.

> updates and changes

Ya, it's not gone the way I wanted there, but the recent update has really made a few folks steam roll the whole idea. We had a couple of choices: ban the offending member(s) that were filling the thread with their off-the-rails version of Google reality, or just get out of the way. So we chose to the later - for the moment.

Great but why is than not the same rule applied to 'AdSense Earnings and Observations'?
Why is the only 'AdSense Earnings and Observations' duped by this rule?

Instead of worrying about whether new visitors will come through google, I would take more care about how not to drive away existing members, and they will with this decision, which affected only the Adsense subforum, and not the Google SERP subforum (to which they referred objections and appeals), will certainly be less and many will leave because of it.

This forum is a community, but not a democracy.

Well-considered opinions are welcome, but in the end a simple rule applies:

Who pays the bills, makes the decisions.

Go for it. You want it that bad - do it. I wont stop it. Post counting will be off - as will active list on those threads.

Just know that a new format for surfacing content, feeds, friends, followers, and threads is in the works (think Reddit meets FB newsfeed...).
