Microsoft has confirmed it'll stop manufacturing its own branded keyboards, mice, and webcams, and instead concentrating on Surface-branded products.

Its branded keyboards will continue to be available while stocks last.

I have bought many of the Microsoft branded products over time preferring them because of quality over the unbranded products which are often of questionable quality.

Ditto with mouse. Buy them in lots of 2 or 3.

Hmm... might have to pick up one or two spares ... I really like their mice (cable/usb)

Keyboards? Not so much ...

Keyboards?

All my keyboard replacements have been due to accidents.... AS IN...

Decades back on one of my Electronics/Amateur Radio Forums among all the clowns among us was one of the fellows from the UK. A real comedian.

On this ocassion his response to something was outstanding and hilarious - I had just taken a large mouthful of my cheeky Merlot, read what he had writen then sprayed my keyboard . Instant keyboard death.

Got out a spare, then told our comic friend I would send him the invoice for my replacement.

"No worrries Ian, come on over to old Blighty and I will reimburse you in cash money and throw in a beer for you as well."

That's a good one, Ian, and very generous of the funny guy.

I've lost keyboard through spills, but never through projectile Merlot. Coffee was particularly destructive, but I found that tea was far less catastrophic.

So many mice and keyboards simply wore out and became unreliable, with the non-branded ones being particularly poor.

The one thing Microsoft gets right and they have to end it. And I have a very strict rule, no liquids around the computers, though that does not prevent my cats from sneezing on the keyboards.

haha, yes, mine, too. For some reason they like to sleep on the keyboard, too. I don't know that it's because it's a MS keyboard.

I just noted. The KMart keyboards above are Logitech.

See Ian - when you actually look across to the top right hand side [where you never normally look] there are the words LOGITECH.
