Can I use my router without an ethernet port to increase my internet speed.

If it has an ethernet port you should use the ethernet port for maximum internet speed.

You can use it without the ethernet port assuming it offers wi-fi but that will not give you faster speed.

You can use a USB/Ethernet dongle and pick 10/100/1000 speeds to get whatever speed you are actually paying for via your ISP (they control the speed, not you).

I am using one since the ethernet port on my motherboard burned out YEARS ago. :)

While my ISP offers 1 gbit service, I opted for 300mb level --- it was half the price of full throat and WAY faster than any traffic throttled website(s) I visit on a regular basis.
