I know lots of us love to work remotely(Fresh Air).

Looking for some suggestions here for which one to get.

14" Laptop(Lenovo t460s, called "Backyard Beast" with 24Gigs of Ram), would love to hide in a "shade" on Sunny afternoons displaying lots of Code. And I mean lots, code is all over the VM placeseses.

There are "hundreds of millions or even billions"(Pun Intended) of kinds out there, not looking for privacy type but specifically Strong Anti Sun Glare.

Thanks.

I have 10 foot umbrella over my head that is attached to a 7 foot wooden table. Problem is sitting outside on a day like today after 2 pm when the sun hits the screen from the West.

I will try the Polarized sunglasses, see how that works out though.

While doing some more research though I came across couple of Ideas, one of them was a Laptop Sun Shade/Visor/Hood thingy. looked around - they are pricey for a dissent one :(

On the other hand just found 2 old binders in the attic that I could gently cut into a hood, nothing that a few Velcro strips cant hold together. Should be a Cool project!

... something like this one: [images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com...] (a link is to an image on Amazon)

I just went out and got me a pair of Polarized Glasses(Tac) and what a difference!

I cant see s**t, plain and simple, but thanks for the effort :). Screen was completely Black.

I tried with both of my sets of spectacles: Close Read+Anti-glare and And Normal Far Vision+Anti-glare +Transitions. And no I don't have another pair with only one eye lens in it if anyone wonders ;).

For now I just put a large Lavender Bush on a table so it blocks most of direct sun light.

Will do the hood, "Lets see what happens".

I mean I am not the only or fist person with Issues like these, right?

P.S.

Prime Rib Time!

Not a solution but it helps to wear darker clothes, a lot of the glare can be reflection from brighter clothing

Nah, light blue(IBM Shirt) for me, no reflection, ++ It's just Sun light or a bad driver on this machine .

Interesting fact is that chatting via camera on PC screen would show a much better image on receiving end if the screen background was set to white.

Your old binders --> new hood sounds at least as good as the Amazon image.

I made some progress over here, besides being bitten by several mosquitoes and a few cans of good brew...

Being partially blind and windows 10 Pro settings:

1. I have increased/set Fonts to 12 from 10 in most dev apps that I used. That helped a lot from the get go.
2. I have switched off Night Light mode Off in Action center which gave me more blue light, thus made screen brighter till 10 pm.
3. Used Off spray to get rid of mosquitoes ;).
4. Turned off battery Saver on automatically.

Now battery is discharging rapidly of sort, but i do have a cable handy!

4. Fixed Fn+F5/F6 functionality, i think this is ThinkPad 460s specific.

I will test it out tomorrow again and report. But I am building a box for it for sure!

You might try changing to high contrast. I guarantee that will certainly be more readable in bright sunlight! (But it will not look like what you are used to!)

Screen was completely Black.

try finding some that are polarized at 90 degrees.
(or use your screen in portrait mode.)

I think it's kinda neat. Retro ... and I can read it!

Disclaimer, I am vision impaired (comes with getting old(er).

However, with the advent of "Dark Themes" starting up it appears what went around is coming around again. :)

"dARK tHEMES" -- so just after I did it I tried to use my favorite clean painters brush to clean my keyboard -- this is what I got back from my computer:

Looked like BASH to me at first... Maybe the brush is talking back to me, Halloween is near! (notice the .? at the end, brush did it I swear!)

--------------------------------------next...

None of what i found so far match what I think I need for outside that is wallet friendly.

I ordered some things from the web, lets see how those "things" pan out.
