i5 vs i7 cpu?

Hi,
I want to get a new laptop with windows 7 but I am not sure which type of cpu to choose i5 or i7
Its use would me mostly for web browsing, ms office, photo shop, nothing too demanding just having multiple applications running at the same time.

so would it be better to have a i5 and 8gb ram or i7 and 4gb ram? I would want something that would be fast enough and last me a while.

also the guy at the store told me they would mirror my old hdd onto the new one. can i still use my passowrds from internet explorer that way or do i have to copy my profile from ie to the new one?

why do they do configs like this... really baffles me.

slower proc / more ram
fast prock / less ram

does battery life mean anything to you?

Also you mentioned "new with windows 7" so im reading that as you currently don't have windows 7, just make sure when they say "mirror" they are just meaning MOVE DATA.

Cause to me mirror means just that, and you don't want some old 32bit OS install being mirrored/imaged unto any of this hardware.

what models of the i7 and i5 are they exactly? they have a nice assortment to further confuse people :-P

I suggest you that,you should buy core i7.because you would be use for browsing and etc. so i7 will give you more speed than i5.
