I have a 6-month old Dell laptop with Vista. Whether I use the built in touchpad or my wireless mouse, I am having a problem that I didn't have a few days ago.
When I move the mouse, it brings up the blue box, as if I am trying to select all the items within a given area of the screen. When I click on an item, and then move my mouse, the item comes with it.
It's as though my computer can't tell when I have pressed or when I have released the mouse button. Has anyone else had this problem? Suggestions?
But now that you mention batteries, this problem did start just as the first mouse battery was running out. I have replaced the battery in the mouse. The computer is plugged in, so it's battery is not an issue.
I'm not at another computer right now, but I will try to plug this mouse into another computer, and plug another mouse into mine. I will report back soon.
But the thing is, this mouse is only 5 or 6 months old. It is a Logitech V220 Wireless Optical Mouse. Is this a common issue?
