Is there a software program that would generate a click from the newer keyboards?

those ps2 keyboards were designed for industrial applications and constructed with a steel chassis.
all pre-ergo and pre-usb.
everything made today is cheap plastic s(tuff).

I miss the feel of it. There's just something about typing on that kind of keyboard.

Check out the Scorpion M10, I have two of them here. Not quite as good as the original Model Ms but a much better feel than others. If you want an original just try a [clicky keyboards] search for new old and used old units. Wikipedia has a good article on Model M keyboards that discusses the different features of each manufacturer's product runs.

Sure, sure ... but we know better. It's that click sound, isn't it? Let's be honest here. And I'll bet you still put a playing card in the spokes of your bike tire :)

It's hard to find a keyboard that isn't the more modern rubber dome switch and membrane type. I'm wondering if eBay might have something? Or better yet, go down to your local school/university or possibly even businesses that have been around for awhile ... walk in and ask them if they might have some old keyboards in storage that they know they will never use again and I'll bet you can turn up a few of the old spring-loaded models. However, you may have to find an AT converter.

Unicomp [pckeyboard.com] bought the patent from IBM on the spring loaded keyboards. They make them new!

I have 3 of the Customizer 104/105 (which have the Windows keys of modern keyboards), all USB interface. They are wonderful!
