1 CPU vs. 2?

for a DB server

Which configuration do you think is better for a DB server (Win 2003, SQL 2005)?
- single quad-core 2.33 GHz
- dual quad-core 1.6 GHz
Everythign else is equal (including the price).

SQL 2005 is only going to have a 1-processor license, so it it betther to share the 2.33 CPU with the OS or dedicate one 1.6 all to itself?

I personally prefer dual processor machines, for the simple reason an application can go nuts and eat up all the time on one cpu, and the other will be untouched and the machine will still be responsive.

But since these CPU's have multiple cores already, which is treated as separate CPU's. I would go for the 2.33 GHZ, since it just plan faster and has more CPU power behind it.
