Hello,

I'd like to install Openads to manage my banners in all of my websites. Currently my websites have about 20,000,000 page views a month. I understand that I need a dedicated server for Openads for serving so many ads, can you tell me which hardware configuration is needed?

Additionally, assuming the banner graphics won't be stored on the Openads server, what amount of bandwidth should I expect per month from the server?

Thanks,

Roy.

Well, if you are talking just serving banner ads, you should be able to figure it out shouldn't you? Umm, what else is there besides the length of code times the page views?

Don't forget that you'll probably be serving multiple impressions per pageview. Having said that, OpenAds should place a lot lower load on a server than something like a heavy duty CMS or forum that may take a dozen or more database queries to build a page.

It's a wild guess, but I wouldn't think you'd need an incredibly capable dedicated server to handle that volume. You can probably find a Dual Xeon that's a couple of years old at a bargain price.

Bandwidth will vary depending on how many ad images you are serving yourself vs. merely inserting tags from other ad serving sources.
