In a large environment, this just leads to excess network traffic on an overworked mail server :(
...I'd like to be able to change the send/receive time via registry if at all possible...

Just a note if you're curious...:)
When a client is connected to an exchange server, the server controls the timing, there's no setting on the client-side...
even if you have "automatically send/receive" unchecked at the client...exchange will deliver mail to the client as soon as it's received...
if the client is working "offline" then the "send/receive" WILL override the offline status and check exchange for messages...
it's nice to have MSCE+I friends.. :)
