Domain shifting - How much does it impact SEO

I want to shift my domain

Hi

My current website domain such as - example.global

Now I own example.com but I don't have any immediate plans for its use but over time I would love for example.com to be the primary domain.

If I shift the domain example.global >to> example.com, How much does it impact on SEO. and which steps need to follow mandatory?

.global is a gTLD (generic top-level domain) as is .com, so changing gTLDs in and of itself should have no impact on SEO.

when you change domains, you should make sure all (301) redirects are properly configured.
you can inform G of domain changes though Google Search Console.
