Do you think this gives a yellow warning in some browsers after switching to Https?

The GSC says "Pages crawled per day" Usually 10,000 per day, and since the https move 20 times as much... 200,000

Well it does need to recrawl all your pages, but every day seems odd. However there are numerous bug reports for GSC.

We have also checked the access.log and they correlate. Obviously, the access log shows more.

Within one week we see about 50% of pages already indexed with https in the SERPs when we do a site:example.com search. I guess the BOT will check each page more than once, but according to stats, the BOT checks every page once per day for the last 6 days (in average). It seems a little bizarre.

I don't think we have redundant forwarding. All 301's end points go to https. Any other ideas? Are we missing something?

Well it sounds like this is a good thing then :)

Another finding: We used to have "clean wave"-like visitor analytic graph (like a sine or sinus wave) going up and down based on the time of the day. Since the Https move the clean curve breaks every few hours with sudden spikes or drops (it could be Fred algo though).

Make sure you're reading the HTTPS report and not the old HTTP.

BTW - I took a look at the GSC crawl report you commented about. For my site it said the daily high pages crawled was: 1,585. That's ridiculous since my site has 300 pages. I would have certainly noticed if Googlebot completely crawled my site 5 times in one day. I watch my logs like a hawk :)

@keyplyr not sure what you mean, because the crawl graph is shared between the https and http in GSC. I had to confirm that with Google.

Anyway, we are reading the access log and it correlates. We will check if it settles in a few days and report back.

NEW ISSUE: Sign up rate dropped since we moved to https... Investigated and found out that Google Plus sign up does not work at all.

Solution: We forgot to update the Google Plus API's origin settings. We had to add https://www.example.com as a valid origin.
