Google, does not care about your likes or youtube related video. It does care about your IP and it's history, something AVG can`t stop..unless you are using an above average dedicated proxy service, that changes your IP every say 30 seconds. Staying off the grid while surfing that same grid is way more complicated than a simple checkbox on a free antivirus software.

True, but if you turn off the plus 1's, social buttons, Google analytics, etc. Google can't TRACK you across properties it doesn't own, which is nice since those things are on a TON of sites. The FF extension Ghostery does much the same thing.

You'd be amazed at the reach of Google tracking..I'm currently being shown videos as suggestions in the sidebar of Youtube today, based upon what I was looking at on a site yesterday that uses directrev ( not owned by Google )..I run Ghostery, adblockplus and no script on linux mint17.2..doesn't stop any site that you whitelisted something on, selling on the contents of your cookie or your unique IP tags and preferences / history, to any other site or ad system..

What G can't get directly about you from Doubleclick and the rest of it's directly owned properties, it can and does just buy or trade to get from others..

Block every thing..and 90% of the web would be blank pages..block most things, and those that you don't block sell your details to those that you do..in real time..
